Rating: Summary: Looking for a GREAT series to read? Start off with this one! Review: This is an epic work where we look into a mysterious world
where the Rand, the Main character and his fiends, a couple
of simple farmers' kids, find themselves in the middle of
a long battle to save the world. Leaves you hanging and waiting for more as you anticipate the next move in this epic
series about the forces of light against the forces of dark.
A MUST READ!!! "The Best Goddamn series I've ever read!!!"---Reader of the
series.
Rating: Summary: exciting amalgam of contrasting forces of light and darkness Review: the intricate weave of seperate plot lines and completely
original characters blends into an intriguing tapestry of
a complex, brilliantly detailed mythical land of epic proportions. the depth of personality present in everyone from the lowliest of the beggars to the lord of the whitecloaks is astounding. the way that jordan presents the concepts of the good, the evil, and those in between, such as the dark one and the creator, the forsaken and the aes sedai, is both stimulating and captivating. Also, some groovy plot twists, man:)
Rating: Summary: Amazon.com has more than a million books. This is #1. Review: Robert Jordan sets the stage for your imagination to run rampant. This is only the first book in a series that will have you locking your doors, pulling down the shades and unplugging the phone so you can finish reading. Keep up the good work RJ. Of all the Books at Amazon.com This is #1. Of course this shares top spot with the rest of the series.
Rating: Summary: Excellent foundation for an incredible world Review: Robert Jordan spins a tale worthy of Tolkein.
I realize that that is a very strong statement but it is also very true. He takes no given ideas or preconceptions when beginning this tale.
He starts from scratch, weaving a story from pure
imagination. He creates new worlds, villians, heros,
even a new form of magic/mysticism. The only things in this tome that vaugely resemble anything that we
know would be some names that could be taken as bastardizations of some English words.
All in all, this book, and in fact this entire series
is worthy of a look. Take my advice and just tough it through the first parts of this series. I know that they may seem boring, but patience is definitely a virtue that is rewarded by sticking with this engaging
storyline.
Rating: Summary: Excellenct beginning to an excellent series Review: This is the first book in the Wheel of Time Series. This book is a fun read with solid charactes and plot. This series is wonderful and I honestly think anyone who love epic fanasty adventures will love this series. In fact, i think the biggest problem with this series is the fact
that the author is still writing the books, so you cant get them all at once. I have been waiting on the edge of
my seat for the next book to come out and when it does I'll devour it and start waiting again.
Rating: Summary: Eye of the World is awesome! Review: Pure Fantasy! Masterfully created realm and characters.
I wish I had had more time to read all 700 pages in one
sitting! The mixture of emotional and social aspects and the enthralling story line just blow you away. I'm on the
third book in a 6 book series (all around 600-800 pages!)
and it's just getting better and better. If you love fantasy
you'll love Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series - and if you've
never heard of magic or monsters before pick up the *FREE*
first half of the "Eye of the World" and see what I'm
talking about!
Rating: Summary: Prepare yourself for fanatical devotion to Robert Jordan. Review: Have you ever desired to immerse yourself in a fantasy so
real you could reach out and touch it? Prepare yourself
for fanatical devotion to Robert Jordan for his Wheel of Time series. The Eye of the World sets the stage for the
most captivating storytelling to ever grace the pages of the Fantasy genre. In this first book we are introduced to
an incredibly rich world with both a history and a future
bound up in an epic tug of war between good and evil. Yet be prepared to struggle with the nature and purpose of this
battle as Jordan paints in the gray areas and convinces us
of the reality of this world. Did you say characters?
Immerse yourself in the lives of the complex, deliciously
human (and non-human) characters which populate this world.
Read this book, you will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: The best fantisy novel I've read this year. Review: Robert Jordan has a wonderful since of character and plot
that make this book become truly real in the hands of the
reader. I recommend this book to anyone who is willing to take a risk and enter a new world, the world of Robert Jordan!
Rating: Summary: Someone who is actually better than Tolkien(hardly possible) Review: If you thought no one would ever be better than JRR Tolkien do I have the book series for you! I must admit I was actually
a little "miffed" at Mr Jordan for being so good! I loved
Tolkien, I thought no one would ever replace Aragorn, but
then I met Lan, and well... what can I say?
If you can't stand the thought of anyone replacing Tolkien
in your heart then DON'T READ THESE BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Otherwise, take a deep breath, and prepare to be lost for weeks
in a new world.
Rating: Summary: A review of The Eye of the World Review: The Eye of the World kicks off one of the greatest fantasy series ever written. And kicks it off with a bang. Combining
fabulous characters with a superb plot, The Eye of the World
does what so few fantasy books can do: it provides you with
hundreds of pages which are each filled with enough excitement to last your lifetime.
The book begins in a quiet town, following the lifes of
three young men: Rand, Perrin, and Mat. When the surrounding
country is plagued by attacks from legendary monsters, the
three find themselves caught up in an adventure none are prepared for. This book is one I found hard to put down, and I'm sure
you'll feel the same. Read it as soon as possible
