Summary: This is the best start to a series that I have ever seen.
Review: The Eye of the World is one of the most imaginative and well-written fantasy works ever to come into print. This book, unlike so many other series-style works, actually begins at the beginning. The characters are superbly drawn and desperately lifelike- One gets to know them almost well enough to predict what they would do in a certain situation, or at least what one -wants- them to do. Most amazing of all, the sequals in this series thus far, all six of them, have only gotten better as the story progresses

Review: Those who tend to belittle this great effort by Jordan, are all jack-asses. They do not appluad his efforts to create the most detailed fantasy world ever created. J.R.R. Tolkien is aslo one of my favorite authors, yet his worlds pale in comparison to both plot depth and complexity to the lovely tid-bit of good literature that Jordan offers this world. All that I can say is that if you are a true literary afficionado then I recomend reading this wonderful work. For those uneducated fools who wouldn't know a good piece of literature if it hit them in the face, then try something a little easier, such as a cat in the hat!!!!!!!!!! Get this series

Summary: Pretty Good Read
Review: I am not easily impressed with fantasy fare, however after many recommendations to read The Eye of The World I finally had to give in. This is a good book! It kept my attention and at times was tough to put down. Personally, I was a little disappointed with the ending - thinking it was a little anti-climatic after the wounderful buildup Jordan gives, but overall a very entertainng read.

Review: Robert Jordan does an excellent job of capturing the readers attention in Eye of the World. He creates some interesting characters that have the potential for a great series. Unfortunately, the subsequent books get mired down in irrelevant detail and the fun of the story is lost. I have continued reading each of the books and grown increasingly disappointed as time goes on. I am now convinced Mr. Jordan is drawing out the series for the sole purpose of selling books. My advice would be to end it in the next book and try to recapture the creativeness of this first book

Review: When I began this series some years ago I, like so many others was very impressed with Mr. Jordans detailed narative and vivid characters. After the first two or three novels I may have drawn comparisons to Tolkien and other "good" Authors, but I soon came to realize that greatest differenc between the two was that Mr. Tolkien knew not so much what to put into a story as what to leave out! Tolkien created a vast and ancient world in which to set his epic tale. And he showed us quite a bit of it. But unlike Mr. Jordan he didn't try to show us every nook and crany. We saw only what we needed to see, and then it was over. Far, far too soon, but it was over. Mr. Jordan has many neat and imaginative ideas, his prose is smooth and easy to read, but he has become too enamored of his own work and refuses to bring it to a close. It may seem that I am writting a review of Tolkiens work as much as Jordans. But every other review of this book that I have read, the ones that have praised it at least, have compared it to Tolkien. I just needed to say that while Jordan may surpass many, including JRRT, in his organizational ability, and his attention to detail, he does not even compare to the true masters when it comes to spinning a yarn. They know that the secret to telling a realy good tale is in giving people just enough to let them bring the story to life themselves. My advice to you is to read the first book, but stop there. Jordans subsiquent narcissistic rattling in later books only serves to reiterate the following points. 1. Men do not understand women. 2. Women do not understand men. 3. Wardens are very dangerous men who wear magic cloaks. 4. Aes Sedai, and women in general, glare at people a lot. 5. Men often find this very disconcerting. Knowing these five things will save you several thousand pages of reading. No need to thank me I'm just hear to help

Review: This has to be the best fantasy novel I have read in a long time. Robert Jordan's work, to me, surpasses even Tolkien's work. I am a very avid reader of Mr. Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I reccomend this book to all fantasy fans

Review: I dont use this word often, but this book is positvely amazing. This has to be one of the greatest works of our time. It has a captivating, riveting storyline that just pulls you into this elaborate world. Bravo to Mr. Jordan for a job well done! This is a great read!

Summary: Book 1 is good, Books 2 thru whatever spiral downward
Review: Book 1 is good. However after book4, I really wanted all thecharacters to just pack it in. The world is heading for ruin and thecharacters are getting into petty arguments and not cooperating. Oh my the world is ending and I have to do the laundry again, whaaaaa! Sheesh! Please end this series.
