Rating: Summary: And So the Dragon Was Reborn,to Captivate Readers Everywhere Review: -The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass... In one Age,called the Third Age by some, called the 1990's by others,an Age yet to come,an Age long past,a wind rose within the bookstores around the world as frantic WoT addicts flocked in and demanded the release of the newest Jordan book. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was _a_ beginning.- Yes,here it is...the book that began it all so long ago,the first book in the famous Wheel of Time Series,"The Eye of the World". It was this book that began all the Mailing Lists, the Fanclubs, the Message Boards, the Web Sites as it heralded the arrival of one of the most complex and intriguing fantasy series ever.Seldom does a book series generate the type of fan following that Robert Jordan has achieved;simply type 'The Wheel of Time' into any search engine to discover the great number of WoT devotees out there. So if this book is so great, why didn't I give it a '10'? Simply because I have _never_ given any book a '10';not even my all time favorite book, which just so happens to be 'The Eye of the World'. I do have a few minor quibbles over my favorite story; such as the ending of the book seemed a bit rushed and I wasn't enthused about the way some of the female characters were presented. But the sheer magnitude of the story overcomes any such minor flaws and I have yet to find the 'perfect' story. 'The Eye of the World' may not be the best book ever written but it is by far the best book I have ever read. Anyone who has read a book in the Wheel of Time Series _must_ read the original book that began it all a decade ago.I encourage all fantasy readers(and any other reader who searches for an absorbing story) to try 'The Eye of the World' even while I give this warning: The Wheel of Time has created addicts before;it will do so again. I've heard tales about people who have begun reading 'The Eye of the World' and could not stop themselves until they finished 'A Crown of Swords' which is the latest book in the unfinished WoT Series.Everyone can't be wrong about a series that has constantly reached the New York Times Best Seller's List, right? I've hooked friends on The Wheel of Time by lending my copy of 'The Eye of the World' to them and I must say that the little blurb included about the plot line does not do the story justice. So read 'The Eye of the World' and introduce yourself to a "world of wonder that is one of the finest in fantasy." "Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time."
Rating: Summary: The best fantasy series since "The Lord of the Rings" Review: Of the numerous titles that I have read over my lifetime, I am most impressed with the "Wheel of Time" Series. The "Eye of the World" opens this Decology with power and feeling behind everything that happens to its detailed characters. This is definately a book that will never leave the nooks and crannies of your mind. Take my word for it, "The Wheel of Time" will be remembered long after you are dead and buried!

Rating: Summary: Good for a while, worse for a time. Review: This book is one of the best books I've read in a while. While some people have been comparing it to Tolkein and even Shakespear, I can't really agree with those who say he's better, and those who say he's worse. This book is an awesome display of fantasy genius, but if you've read more of the books, you can see that he has dragged them out longer than needed. The books are shown to the reader as parts of a whole, while they are split into about 4 or 5 different adventures by the people and friends. This book is highly recommended by me, and is something I would give to my friends, but not something I would give to someone who doesn't love fantasy. No one can say for sure whether it will turn out that he is as famous as Tolkein, but I can say for sure that a lot of people seem to think so. Tolkein was a master of storys, but his were shorter. The story took place over a shorter amount of time, and a shorter amount of distance. I must congratulate Mr. Jordan on his excellent detail work though. It's really exemplary.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Book Ever! A true 10! Review: A fast paced, exciting book. Very in depth....a true fantasy classic. The extensive list of characters provides plenty of variety.
Rating: Summary: read this series Review: if you like fantasy this series is for you.however wait for it to be finished there is a whole lot of reading to do and you tend to forget some things between books
Rating: Summary: It was Great! Review: Wow, this book was awsome! Rarly in a book do you see such a magnificant combanation of fantasy, drama, horror, saddnes, and suspence. Robert Jordan is now one of my all time favorite authors because of this book, and the rest in the series
Rating: Summary: Incredibly engaging. Review: This book is a terrific beginning to an epic. Even though it is about 800 pages, you will fly though it. The adventures, characters, and the world are colorful, and different, but also eerily familiar. So much happens, and everything has so much depth. Mr. Jordan has taken the familiar elements and twisted them into new patterns. A must-read for fantasy-epic fans.
Rating: Summary: Great Beginning to a Great Saga Review: With the book the size it is, it looks like it will be slow reading, especially after seeing the following books. It started alittle slow but then just started getting better and better. There is no worry about forgetting who any of the characters are since they are so thought out, and thereby so real. I feel like am actually there.
What a GREAT feeling. My congratulations to Robert Jordan, may he never stop writing. To the publishers...use more glue...
Rating: Summary: NOTE TO TOR: Better spine glue on the paperbacks! Review: The first book of a truly innovative mythopoeic fantasy. Has frequently been compared to Tolkein, BUT Tolkein was more for young adults - this is a fairy tale for adults
Rating: Summary: A Grand Adventure In The Making Review: To a whole different time place and adventure. The Reader doesn't even know what (she he)
is getting into. Vary detailed to say the least,
read and enjoy this book. You won't beable to put this one down, not fore vary long anyway. Once you read the EYE OF THE WORLD you will have to read the rest of the series right then and NOW!! To sum it up the book and all WOW!!! Thats all WOW!!
