Rating: Summary: Greatest Fiction ever written Review: I personally believe that anyone with a brain larger then the size of an ant will enjoy this series immensely. If you have any attention span at all you'll realize that what Robert Jordan has created is the closest thing to reality you can get in fiction. The only thing that I think is more enjoyable to read then Jordan's novels is military history, and then only by the great historians.
Rating: Summary: A workout for the brain. Review: Did you know that there are people who actually find running marathons fun? Really! Well, if you are not the type that likes to earn your enjoyment through sweat, hardwork, and commitment then you probably should not read this series. It is time comsuming, addicting, and will leave you anxious for the next book. For people who like to work for there play, I highly recommend it. I fell in love with this book from page one, although first time readers should give it at least the first chapter. Nothing like MORGAN LLYWELYN, MELANIE RAWN,GUY GAVRIEL KAY or even TOLKIEN. These are a few of the authors I enjoy reading and I have never felt that any author should try to be like them. If anything I like these books BECAUSE they are so different. (although...have you read anything by TERRY GOODKIND)
Rating: Summary: Well... Review: The main reason why I read this book was the fact it's fantasy.I didn't find characters I could sympathise with in this book. The series seem to go on and on,with no end in sight.Jordan cannot write good battle descriptions the way R.A Salvatore can.The eye of the world wasn't the worst book I've read, but in my opinion nowhere near the best.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Book - after I got into it a ways... Read it! Review: My initial reaction to this book was some confusion until I did a lot of looking at the glossary. Jordan has an depth of characters and background that, while making the story incredible, also require you to adjust your thinking about how a fantasy novel reads. Once I had a handle on the "language", I was hooked. I am currently getting psyched up for the third book in the series. A must read for epic fantasy fans!
Rating: Summary: One of the best books ever Review: How can you begin to describe this epic tale? "The Eye of the World" sets off a series of books that you can't put down- they're nothing short of astounding. The characters are so involved that you feel like you know them. You miss them once you finish it, and can't wait to pick up the next book. As the story progresses, you find yourself caring more and more about their fates, worrying about them and getting mad at their enemies. It holds you in suspense from the first page to the end.
Rating: Summary: A Definite Must-Read, You'll Love It! Review: I loved this book. It is very exciting and well written, and unlike some fantasy series, it isn't a complete Tolkien rip-off. I've only read the first three books, but I'm getting the fourth and can't wait to read it.
Rating: Summary: This book is fascinating Review: This book is the most interesting I have ever read. The description is great, I feel like i'm in the book standing and looking at whats going on. Read this book, if imagination was colorful, Jordan can think up a rainbow. This book is equal to the Tolkien trilogy, and its battle scenes are more interesting to read. Battles, magic, and evil. I couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: Everyone has their tastes but I for one enjoyed this book! Review: I rate this an 8 only because I have five others in the series to read and have only gotten about 180 pages into the second. The last fantasy level book I read in full was Elfstone Of Shanara and after a chapter into the sequel, I called it quits. That was 12+ years ago! Since then, it's been mostly technical books. Only recently have I started reading again (some Klingon/Star Trek books) and when this series came highly regarded by a co-worker, I ordered the first book. I was hooked just with the prologue alone. Usually, I'll read a few pages and fall asleep but there were many a night I hadn't put this book down and dawn was fast aproaching! I've enjoyed it so much that I ordered the rest of the books in the series both in paperback and hardcover form. I can't promise YOU'LL like it but judging from the reviews you see here, there are lots of people who have. If you do get the TOR paperbacks, have some superglue handy to repair the darn binders. I figure a book or series of books is good when your friends are hooked. Some have read the series completely and are reading them again. Give the paperback a shot!
Rating: Summary: Brillient! Review: A Great Start to a Great Serise of Books
Rating: Summary: Best fantasy book of all time!!! Review: The is the most incredible book I've ever read. It is a literary masterpiece and no other even comes close. It has a great plot that takes an unexpected turn at the end of the book and it is just awesome.
