Review: I have never been an avid reader of fantasy or Sci-Fi., but I must confess I could not put this book down. I became completely caught up in it! I actually found myself "living the adventure" right along with the characters. Many thanks to my friend who gave me this book as a gift!

Review: An amazing tale of Rand Al'thor and his adventures with his lifelong chums Mat(My favorite charecter!) and Perrin. Don't be intimidated by it length. Afert chapter 20 YOU WON"T BE DOING ANYTHING ELSE. Robert Jordan Rules!!!

Summary: A very good start to a very good series
Review: I've read the first six books and I'm now working on the seventh. I find WoT to be a refreshing change from an overdone genre. I am an avid fantasy reader, and it seems that every series (with the exception of WoT, Lord of the Rings, and a few others) becomes increasingly predictable as the story progresses. Jordan's books, though not written with the absolute literary genius of Tolkien, are nonetheless very entertaining and satisfyingly unpredictable. Unfortunately, I have heard bad reviews about book #7--well, we'll just see when I get to the end.

Summary: In defiance of the Master (Tolkien)
Review: You read other reviews of tEotW. I am complaining about some of the new reviews here. You won't believe the number of times Jordan copied from Tolkien. I read just about every middle earth book out (Hobbit, LotR, SIlmarilion, Home series1-12,etc., etc.) and you talk about hobbits? If you read the silmarillion and Tolkiens earlier works you would be amazed! Tolkien was the first ofhis kind. Most, if not all fantasy authers were inspired by him. To understand the world of middle earth and the Blessed Realm of Valinor, you have to go beyond the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings You have to read silmarillion. And that is just a brief outline to what is in store for you whne you read the History of Middle Earth series. Now when you finish your wot get some tolkien!

Summary: not Tolkien...thankfully
Review: Ok im gonna get razed but here goes..My only comparison to Tolkien ....... its Fantasy...ok that said RJ rocks its fantasy for adults without the lazy self absorbed drivel of other writers out there right now. I'll leave all the Terrys alone for now. You really gotta want to learn the characters ..like any relationship it takes time to develop..Jordan knows this and lets us see bits of characters at a time, too much too fast would be like reading the last page and then going back to the beginning,I think NOT..My only peeve is that the release times seem to be growing apart a year was tough but 2 and now what 3 if we are lucky..i know its a lot to ask but come on RJ your killin me ...

Summary: Not Tolkien is a stupid thing to say
Review: For those that say it is not Tolkien it isn't because it isn't about Hobbits. This is millions of times better than Tolkien could ever hope to be. You have to read it to see the deph and scale that Jordan plumbs. Go on!

Summary: Great, but not as good as Tolkien.
Review: This book(and series) could possibly be some of the best I've ever read. Though I do admit that some of it does resemble Tolkien I thought it was still well worth the read. It does start out kind of slowly(until a certain Chapter 6) then picks up again. The trollocs, I must admit, are kind of stupid. Why RJ couldn't just use trolls or orcs is beyond me. Other than that, just try to make it past Whitebridge and you'll be hooked!

Review: The book was not very good and I believe that Jordan stepped beyond his bounds with the characters. Jordan didn't make any of them seem real, or that a person could relate to. It became a dissapointment in the end.

Review: This book is great for readers who like pure science fiction books. After taking a month to read this book, I read the next two in only two weeks!!! I am on the fourth book now. If you like J.R.R. Tolkien or David Eddings, you will love this book!!!

Summary: Well worth the time
Review: I greatly enjoyed Eye of the World. I have, as now, only read the first four in the series, but I consider it one of the best I've read. Although you need some momentum to get through some of the middle of the book, where it get slightly bogged down, the rest of the book is well worth the time it takes to read.
