Summary: EOTW is the beginning of a literary phenomenon.
Review: To truly express the range of emotions I've had to deal with during my envolvement with the WOT series would require more than 1,000 words. However, I,ll be as brief as I can. This book is the tip of an incredibly WONDERFUL iceberg. My recommendation, read the series ( at this point awaiting book #8 Path of Daggers)as slowly as possible, savoring each moment. The wait between releases is a true test of patience. I've now read WOT six times. Keep'im comin Robert, I,ll keep read'in.

Summary: One of the better Sci-fi Reads
Review: I've been reading sci-fi for over 10 years now, and while none beats the Covenant series in my mind, this comes very close. A friend clued me into the EOTW, and, despite a slow beginning, I soon became enthralled with all the subplots and intrique. One of the more fascinatings things I found about reading Jordan is trying to imagine where he could possibly go with all those seemingly trivial tangents the stories take. I'm on book 3 now (it's taken me a month) and I'm trying to pace myself for the #8 release in November (I hate waiting). I really enjoy the Aes Sedai; having women take such a pivotal role in many of the main events makes this series so much more than a sword weilding/blood spewing fest. My favorite character though, is one of the men, Perrin. I hope Jordan develops this character's complexities in dealing with his "gift". I've already recommended this to a couple "non sci-fi" reader friends, and they love it too.

Summary: Excellent Book/Excellent Series-For some
Review: After reading the reviews on this page and having to sit through exclamations of "It's the best book ever!" or "It was lousy!" I decided to make my own comment on The Eye of the World. To me, it and the following books in the series are an excellent and fabulous read-a true fantasy classic. However, Jordan's works are not for everybody. Unless you are willing to be patient through seven thoroughly lengthy books(with an estimated 10 books in the series), do not venture into the series. Often, Mr. Jordan uses lengthy description to make and point and it is understood that some people do not prefer this type of writing. For example, the first 60 pages of The Eye of the World are merely background and foundation. I think, however, that anyone who takes the time to go through the first book and onto into the rest of the series will be extremely pleased with the originality, plot structure, and reality of the series. So, if you don't mind reading A LOT, check out The Eye of the World.

Summary: Quite on of the best Fantasy novels ever written in the 90's
Review: From the start this book grabs you and doesnt let go. Ok Tolkien is great but in my eyes this book far out stretches the limits that where set in the Lord of the Rings. Robert as written a masterpiece of good against evil, light against dark etc etc. The only down part is that it doesnt stop at one book, but goes on and on.... Thank you anyway Robert..... and thanks for signing my copies when you where in Nottingham, England.
THIS IS A MUST BUY.......

Summary: Well Worth The Read!!
Review: I just finished EOTW tonight. It was a very good book, but it seemed to drag at times. I hope the series get better as I continue to follow Rand Al'Thor and Company. I expected it to set a new standard for my outlook on epic fantasy...it didn't. I read all four of Goodkind's SOT books before EOTW. I see where TG got some of his ideas for his series (not to the point of pure plagarism), which is o.k. by me.
Yet, EOTW didn't grab my attention the way WFR did. EOTW is a good read in and of itself but I feel that I would have liked it better if Moiraine Aes Sedai, the Wisdom, and Egwene were not so aggravating to me as a reader. I'm all for women with power but they tended to get on my nerves with their treatment of the boys. Moirane is even more of a pain than the Mother Confessor (Someone that I find extremely hard to out do). Yet Moiraine does it with such ease. I plan to read all the books in this series. Yet, I think I will take a break and read George R.R. Martin's "A Game of Thrones" (A Song of Ice and Fire saga)next. I hear it is just a good if not better than RJ's WOT saga.

Summary: Wow...
Review: I have loved this series for many years now. For those dedicated fans, waiting for the next book is torture, but well worth it. Though there are those who think the series is too long, I love it and I always will. The plot is deliciously thick and the characters are well-developed. A wonderful (but addictive!) read.

Summary: If you want really long and fairly enjoyable, this is for you
Review: While I don't agree that this is the "best book ever," I do have to say that it is very, very good. The beginning happens to start out very slow, but soon grabs you and provides a very entertaining journey throughout Jordan's world. As I've read the second also, I know that it gets much more entertaining, so don't give up on the first one! If you're not ready to read 7 (leangthy) books in a row right now, try Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind, David Eddings or the Dragonlance Chronicles books for a shorter and more lightweight read. If you want complicated but shorter, try Melanie Rawn's Dragon books, which are all excellent reads.

Summary: Fabulous Story, well worth the wait for each new Title
Review: If there was a story of legends and myth for the times, this novel is the beginning of such a line. Right from the first chapter I was entrapped in a wonderful world of new insperational characters and settings that sent shivers up and down my spine.

Summary: Rand is the Dragon Reborn! (Woo! Ruined it for you newbies!
Review: You might all think this book is about Good vs.
Evil from reading the rest of these reviews, but
its not! Its the Battle of the Sexes! Every other
line a women calls a man a wool headed
stubborn ox, crosses her arms, and sniffs.
Make the sniffing stop!!! All women in WOT MUST
have some kind of chronically stuffed nose!

But really, this book, aand all after it kick.
They are really the best I've ever read.

Summary: A MUST read
Review: All i can say is that this is one of the best books i have read in a long time... I would compare it to the Death's Gate Cycle... but that is like comparing Fast Fry Steak (DGC) and a Sirloin Tip (WOT).. i'm only now reading the second book of the series and i can't put it down.. looking forward to the rest
