Rating: Summary: Not Very Promising Review: When I heard that Levine had written a new book I eagerly bought it the fist moment I possibly could. Ella Enchanted is one of my favorite books that I can just read over and over so I thought TTPOB would be just as delightful. The book was really too stereotypical with the brave hero sister (Meryl) and the cowardly sister (Addie). Hmmmmm... who do you think comes out of her shell and saves the day? The book itself is a fast and somewhat esay read, but the characters where not that original and didn't seem to jump out as real people as in Ella Enchanted and I'm sure we've all heard the same plot a thousand times (cowardly girl becomes brave and saves everyone... blah blah blah) I'll give the book some credit in that TTPOB still held Levine's magical fantasy touch at some points, but at the same time was gray and sketchy. Another reviewer said that there was no asking why things were the way they are and I totally agree. Unfortunatly this book does not deliver and I suggest that you read Ella Enchanted or even The Wish instead of The Two Pincesses of Bamarre and if you still want to read it, pick up a copy at the library. Don't be fooled by all the 5 star ratings that plaster the front TTPOB page.
Rating: Summary: Wow!! Review: Wow!! I thought this was an extremely well written fantasy. The characters were wonderful and the adventure and suspense was amazing!! You never knew what would happen next. The ending was extremely unexpectant. This is definetly a "must read"!!!!!!

Rating: Summary: The Two Princesses of Bamarre Review: Yet again Gail Carson Levine amazes me with her writing talent. Meryl and Addie are the two Princesses of Bamarre who love each other very, very much, but are very different. Meryl is brave and daring, but Addie is always fearful and her deepest wishes are for safety and peace. When Meryl catches Gray Death, a deadly disease, Addie must find courage and go on a dangerous quest to find the cure for gray death, which is Princess Meryl's only chance of survival. If you loved Ella Enchanted, this is a must read!
Rating: Summary: Levine does a good job, but not as good as Ella Enchanted. Review: Meryl and Adelina (Addie for short) are sisters. Meryl is the daring and courageous sort while Addie is the kind who has Meryl protect her. Addie says she needs Meryl as much as she needs to breathe air. Addie has a fear of many things like spiders, dragon, and gryphons. One day while Meryl and Addie are giving gifts to Rhys, (the sorcerer who Addie falls in love with) Meryl becomes weary and later on finds out that she has been struck with the Gray Death. Meryl has always been chanting that she would find the Gray Death and be as heroic as the legend Drualt, but not before Addie got married. Addie feels that she needs to do something and seeks the cure for the Gray Death. She ventures out alone with a few helpful gifts from her friends, such as the magic tablecloth, the four league boots, the map and the spyglass. Addie learns to be courageous and masters her fear of spiders as well. This book was interesting, but it didn't match up with Ella Enchanted. It was missing something that Ella Enchanted had. What I am trying to say is, this book is a good read, but not Levine's best.
Rating: Summary: teenage girl point of view Review: I was given this book on my 14th birthday by a friend the same age. I absolutely loved Ella Enchanted and had gone on to read The Fairy's Mistake which was good but not nearly as good as Ella Enchanted. The one thing that I do not like about the series books is that they are all in hardback and are therefore pretty expensive! The Two Princesses of Bamarre is a great read and extremely enjoyable. I especially love the romance in it and the adventure. This book keeps you hooked to the the last sentence! I recommend it to all ages, and i know anyone who reads it will love it as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: Impressive fantasy Review: In the country of Bamarre there live two Princesses, as different as night and day. One of them Addie is timid and shy but loves no one more than her sister Meryl. Her sister Meryl is strong, stubborn and brave. Meryl's life mission is to one day find the cure for the grey death, a plague that kills people very quickly. Addie only wishes to stay safe inside her palace but her wish is not granted. When her sister is sticken with the grey death she knows she has to do something. But when this something turns out to be leaving her home and finding the cure, facing specters and dragons she finds it hard to deal. Even with the help of a sorceror. Can she save her sister? Or will she be too timid to follow through. I found this book to be very impressive. It was entertaining to see Addie's transfomration through the book from timid little sister, to something more. I reccomend it to fans of Levine's 1st book Ella Enchanted. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. The only complaint I has was some parts where a tad bit predictable. Other than that it was great. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Another outstanding fantasy novel by Gail Carson Levine! Review: I wished for another fantasy novel done by Gail Carson Levine {after reading "Ella Enchanted"}and it came true. This is a wonderfully done novel! Except their is only one thing that displeases me, although some may disagree, is the ending {don't worry I won't spoil it for those who havn't read it yet}. It was a fabulous and creative way to end and wrap it up. So what am I complaining about? It was just that I didn't like how she made it turn out. I would of prefered MORE of a 'happily ever after' ending. That's just my opinion. But anyways, I definitely reccomend this book to everyone who has or hasn't read "Ella Enchanted". It's a must read for any fantasy book lovers! If you liked this book check out Gail Carson Levine's 'The Princess Tales Series'.
