Rating: Summary: Bring back Sunfire Romances!!! Review: This was the first Sunfire book that I read and it held me captive. As soon as I finished it I went back to the library to get more books. This is about a spoiled rich girl who is torn from her home by her dad and is forced to ride with him to Oregon. Through this book you learn the trouble on the Oregon trail and about a girl anmed Amanda who learns to love.
Rating: Summary: A great start to a wonderful series Review: What a great way to start the Sunfire series! Amanda's change from a spolied girl to a strong woman is set along the hardships that many real-life pioneers faced. Candice F. Ransom is the best of the Sunfire authors with her historical detail, and although she follow's the series one-boy-is-good-for-you-and-the other-is-bad formula, she makes the reader not feel so much as if they are reading such a book. One of the best of the series.
Rating: Summary: Ms. Candice Ransom's books were the best Review: While I cannot remember specifics from any of the Sunfire books, I recall the series with fondness as I read all of them in Junior High School, sparking my interest in historical fiction. Candice Ransom's books, like this one, were the best and though they follow a formula (girl meets 2 boys, one good for her, one bad) they were well researched an very interesting. I wish they were still available.
