Summary: Ishmaelite life
Review: It is a superb adventure story. Jack London was always concerned about survival even while working himself into a nervous state. A strange animal had pursued them for days, half-dog, half-wolf. She had lured the sled dogs away from the fire. Three had gone missing. Wolves were responsible for the death of another dog and a man. The remaining man and two dogs were vigilant and careful. Finally the man was saved by other men.

The wolf cub learned the law was eat or be eaten. Man-animals enforced justice through the use of tools. The cub perceived the men were fire-makers, they were gods. In White Fang's development, elements of nature and nurture warred.

I know of no author comparable to Jack London in his ability to depict graphically the struggle of Darwinian forces. The work is as sharp and frank as it was when new. This is one of Jack London's major efforts. Revisiting it causes one to realize how merited its fame is.

Summary: WONDERFUL!
Review: White Fang is part wolf part dog. He was the only cub amoung his sisters and brothers to surrive! He learned how to hunt when he was little, tasted blood... than one day he and his mother got caught by Native Americans ( Indians. ) The Native Americans seem to know White Fang's mother and they called her Kichie! White Fang was named White Fang due to the fact that he had pure white teeth. White Fang and Kichie was taken in by Gray Beaver. In certin events White Fang got pounced on by the other village dogs, he knew them as his own, but he didn't accept them as his own, and they didn't either... they didn't like White Fang. The dogs weren't the only ones who mistreated White Fang, Gray Beaver never loved White Fang, White Fang never knew the wonderfuls a hand of a 'god' ( That's what White Fang beileve the humans are due to the fact that 'gods' can make fire and pick up twigs and stones ) could give, he only knew the punishment a hand of a 'god' could have. Later on White Fang grew into a mighty wolf, he was smarter than the average dog, and he was as fast as lighting. His prey... the Village dogs! He hurted them, and even KILLED them. The village dogs walked together and stayed together. The dogs weren't as smart as White Fang, but they weren't dumb either... they knew if they were caught alone they may never live to breath the sweet air again!

One day, Gray Beaver heard about the gold rush, he decided to go up there and sell his coats and items for money. He toke White Fang... who was the strongest and wises of all his dogs. By now White Fang and his mother had been seprated, so he didn't mind leaving the village. There... at the gold Rush White Fang found it fun to hurt/kill the new comers dogs. Though he noticed that if he did so he would get punished. So soon he would attack and leave the other village dogs to finsh and get the punishment! Soon, everyone in the gold Rush would rush down to watch White Fang do his work... but the most intrested person, none other, was Beauty Smith.

Beauty Smith would watch White Fang run in amazing speed and tear open the throat... he would watch and yell in happiness everytime it happened. Soon Beauty Smith wanted to buy White Fang, he went to Gray Beaver, but Gray Beaver said no... Gray Beaver told Beauty Smith that White Fang was the strongest of all his dogs. Soon an idea popped into Beauty Smith's mind he went every day to Gray Beaver's tent and left a bottle of whisky there, Gray Beaver drank it, and soon got addict! He lost all his money buying the stuff and soon Beauty Smith came back with a bargin... White Fang for bottles of whisky. Gray Beaver agreed!

Beauty Smith abused White Fang, using both cub and whip. Soon Beauty Smith made White Fang battle against other dogs to make money. Will White Fang ever know the kindness of 'gods'? Will he die a Killer? Read this book to find out!

I actually read this book for my book report after reading ' The Call of the Wild ' by Jack London!

Summary: WhiteFang''One action packed book''
Review: One of my favorite books is White Fang by Jack London. To start with one reason I like this book is because of how different our thought process is from White Fang's. Instead of trying to figure things out, he usually just accepts it. We humans tend to make things too complicated. Another reason I like this book is because of the intense fighting. For example, when he was forced to fight the dog fights. White Fang is not a force to mess with. Most of all, I liked that no matter how bad it looked, he would never give up. Even when he was beat by cruel owners, he still strove for the time when he would be free. This book will not only give you a new look on things, but you will also enjoy reading it!

Summary: White Fang
Review: The plot was confusing at the beginning, but as the story progressed the point of the story cleared up.White Fang, a mean dog, has many unkind owners. Weedon, a kind owner, takes custody which causes White Fang to change.White Fang, a dog, was mean because all of his owners were unkind. He never knew the world in a caring way. When Weedon, a nice owner, comes along White Fang suddenly realizes that there is kindness in the world. He is like some people because they choose to only show certain traits of their personality. I think White Fang was the most complex character one of the reasons being he was multi-layered, he was also my favorite character. I absolutely hated Beauty Smith because he was so cruel. The author kept dialogue in this book to a minimal, instead he put the reader in the characters shoes. You can see what they see, think what they think, and feel what they feel. In this serious book, there are lots of long descriptive passages that give the book lots of personality. This book is no mystery book, you can predict what will happen next easily. The author's overall theme is that everyone is capable of changing. A person might seem one way on the outside but they can be totally different on the inside. I agree with this message because everyone can change into anyone.
I wouldn't recommend nor not recommend this book. It was confusing at the beginning and I didn't like how it had no suspense. On the other hand it was a well written book artistically.
