Summary: Looking for a heroine?
Review: A fiction novel modeled around facts, this story is narrated by Gabrielle, a fictional friend of the French heroine and saint, Joan of Arc. Gabrielle, Joan's only female companion at war and the soldiers' doctor, chronicles the days before and during war to the day Joan is burned by the English. The true story is that Joan attempted to drive the British out France in the 15th century but the narrator is a fictional character detailing Joan's actions. It's adventurous, but also we read the tragedies the French had to face. I recommend this to those who need inspiration in bravery and courage. Excellent story!!!

Summary: An adventurous tale
Review: A wonderfully written book! It takes you back to the time of Joan of Arc, and makes everything seem so realistic. Joan's friend is the narrator, telling adventure after adventure. A tear-jerker! I actually cried! Even though I had to read this for a book report, I enjoyed every minute of this book and was glad because I couldn't put the book down - this was the first book report I actually finished on time! READ IT AND YOU'LL THANK ME.

Summary: Good but not focussing on the point
Review: Gabrielle de Domremy was an interesting character and very funny. It was very upsetting when Louis died but I think they needed to focus the tears more on Joan of Arc. It was like," LOUIS DIED, but on a side note, Joan of Arc died." The book was great, very interesting, especially since they recognized Christine de Pissan. I liked the book, and would definitley call it one of the great historical fiction books of our time, but they really needed to focus on the piont of Joan of Arc's heroism and piety.

Summary: A Coming Of Age Story Intricately Interwined With History
Review: Garden's newst book, has lived up to all expectations. Despite the title, Joan of Arc's space in the book is minimal. The lead character,Gabriel,is strong ,passionate and itelligent young woman. Garden paints a colorful portrait of war and it's terror. Along with brilliant writing and characters ishistorically accurate.

Review: I first read this book when i was in sixth grade and read it twice then, once in seventh, and once this past year in eighth. This book is wonderful and is my all-time favorite book. It changed my outlook on certain things in life and definatly caused an epiphany. The book is enrichened by friendship, loyalty, romance, and loss. If you are looking for a book that will change your life, this is the one for you. Although i must say that i believe girls may like it more than guys.....

Summary: excellent
Review: I really loved this book. It's great historical fiction, narrated by Gabrielle, a friend of Joan's. The characters are easy to admire for their bravery and loyalty. It taught me a lot about Joan of Arc's quest and medieval life. Anyone who likes history would LOVE this book.

Summary: This book is GREAT!!
Review: I'm reading this book for the second time now, and all I have to say is: read it!!! Especially if you're a Joan of Arc fanatic like me, you'll absolutly love it!! It combines real events (and she stays very close to historical events) with the adventure of another unknown, fictional character. It is sad, yet really makes you think about the life of Joan of Arc. The hint of romance of Gabrielle also makes the book better, in my opinion. So if you like romance, adventure, and Joan of Arc, read this book!!!

Summary: You have to read this book!
Review: This book is by far the best Joan of Arc book I have read yet, and I've read a lot about her! The story is told through the eyes of her neighbor, Gabrielle. I thought it was nice how it wasn't just some person saying "Then she went to here, and did this." It's in first person, and the way it is written, it seems like you're right there next to Gabrielle. The book sucks you in! You can't stop reading once you start! It's really a great story, because not only is there "historical fact" and war and conquering, but there is also romance! I started reading this book for a book report because it was the only one I could find in five minutes, but once I started it, I couldn't stop! This book is definitely one of my favorites, and I love reading all types of books! I know I'm using a lot of exclamation marks, but believe me, this book deserves it! If you don't read it, I promise you will be missing out!

Summary: A WONDERFUL BOOK!
Review: This book is GREAT! I read it in 3 days! I love the war and the time it is taking place.IT can show you the harsh things about war time, but also the truness in the people of that time. It makes me keeps turning the pages, even into the night.I like how Louis comforts her, and that even in the battles, other fellows are watching over her.I injoy that is brave to act as a boy to care for the wounded, and learn more of her practice.I also like on how some of the people, when they find out, are amazed on how good a women can be.It is just GREAT, I am going to buy this book for my self(I first read it from the library)so I can read it over and over again, because it is that good!
