Summary: A must read!
Review: The book Holes is a great book written by Louis Sachar. This book is great because it is exciting and it is sort of a mystery. My favorite character is Stanley. I like Stanley because he is cool and adventurous. This story takes place in Camp Green Lake. There are no pictures but there is one map which helped me know about the area. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes adventure and mystery.

Summary: Very exiting, interesting, and very easy to read.
Review: Holes, is a well-written book, I say it is the most realistic book I ever read. It is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. Stanley is wrongly accused of stealing a famous pair of shoes that was going to be auctioned for charity. In court, the judge sentenced Stanley to make his choice of going to jail or to Camp Greenlake. He picked Camp Greenlake because Stanley never been to camp and thought this camp was going to be easy for him. However, there is no lake on Camp Greenlake! There isn't anything but a big hot desert, with a couple of buildings and tents. He has to dig a hole five feet wide and five feet deep every day in this camp. Stanley is told that digging is to build character and self-esteem Stanley made friends after two to three days so he would not feel left out. After a while, Stanley thinks the warden in the camp is looking for something because the warden told him to her office if he found anything valuable; then he would get the rest of the day off. During Stanley's hole digging time, he talks about his family curse, making new friends, and thinking about what the warden is look for. I really enjoy reading this book and sharing information with you (the readers) and just hope that you are interested in reading short novels by Louise Sachar's.

Summary: It was great!
Review: This book is about friendship and adventure. The main character, Stanley Yelnats, is poor and is picked on a lot. He is charged of a crime that he did not commit and goes to a correctional facility called Camp Green Lake. He must dig a five by five foot hole every day on a dry lake bed. He makes one good friend nicknamed Zero. They stick together and survive. This story will keep you guessing until the end. I read it for the second time and I was still surprised at some of the things that happened.

Summary: A Compelling, But Complex Read [From the JDRC]
Review: I thought that this book was extremely entertaining. But, at times, it was also extremely confusing. While also unbelievable, it's a great story, and anyone who has a good sense of adventure should read it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Adults Like it Too
Review: This awesome novel is now being filmed, but you should have the pleasure of reading the story first. A multi-layered tale, engrossing and heartwarming, but never sappy. Take a break from adult reading and get into some very good YA fiction.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: HOLES
By Louis Sachar

Do you think Stanley will survive Camp Green Lake? There are rattlesnakes, scorpions and yellow spotted lizards that can bite and kill you. There are also mean councilors and the meanest Mr. Sir. Stanley is a boy who does not steal. He's just an average plain old boy.

I like this book because it is funny and ridiculous with the bite killing yellow spotted lizards. Also Stanley helped a new kid hide under a boat. So... he didn't have to eat nasty dinner, lunch or breakfast.

The main idea is to be good so you don't have to go to Camp Green Lake. If you are good you don't have to blame your dirty- rotten- pig- stealing- great- grandfather. Isn't it nice to always have someone to blame it on? The author has written this book to teach you to be good.

Review: Holes

By: Louis Schaffer

This story is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats who is accused of stealing Clyde Livingston's shoes a baseball player. So he got sent to a camp that made them dig a hole every morning. Then his best friend runs away from camp and almost dies, but then Stanley comes and saves the day. Finally, his lawyer comes and tries to get Stanley out of camp.
I like the book Holes because it's interesting, adventurous, exciting, and is so passionate to me because I think Stanley became very deep in loving camp after he got used to it. I sort of disliked it because it was to involved in just juvenile things

Summary: Camp Green Lake
Review: Camp Green Lake

Stanley went to Camp Green Lake and met a lot of friends. The camp has children in it who have done something bad. They have to dig holes. Everyone gave him a nickname and that was Caveman. I recommend this book because it has a lot of information. I?m excited to read more of Louis Sachar's books.
