I love how, when you're reading this book, you have to pay attention to the little details in the begging because they all come together in the end. I've read this book 3 times and every time I realized something that I didn't the other time. I would suggest this book to anybody who likes to read, even if you're an adult this book would seem interesting to you. It's a book that the whole family will fight over the rights to read it next. I feel somewhat sorry for Stanley,I mean he was sent to a detention camp on accounts of a crime he didn't even commit. Even though this was a bad thing for Stanley. It all works out for the good in the end.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Awesome Review: This book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who has been accused of stealing shoes from Clyde Livingston. He didn't really steal them they fell from the sky. Stanley's family believes it's because of their "no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather", and then in turn got them a curse on their family. Now Stanley is forced everyday to dig a hole the length and width of his digging shovel. That's a lot of work. The book is really 2 stories that overlap and make and awesome book. Two worlds collide and make for an interesting twist. I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. If I would have added up all the time it took me to read it, it'd be about 5hrs. This has been my all time favorite book. I have never read a book like this. That's why it got a Newbery award. If you like adventure and mystery you will love this book. I recommend this for any age. Parents this will be a good book for your son and daughter to read. The book is only (fairly inexpensive), get this book. You will love this book, I did, and I hate hate hate hate reading. Get this book NOW; you'd be dumb not too!!!!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: My review of holes Review: The novel Holes from Louis Sachar published in 2002 is about a boy called Stanley Yelnats. He is punished for a crime he did not commit and is sent to Camp Green Lake a juvenile correction facility in the desert. At Camp Green Lake he is forced to dig a hole every day to improve his character. He soon notices that there is more to these holes than just the improvement of his character. He finds a friend Zero who is the first friend in his life. Then suddenly Zero runs away in the desert. Stanley wants to save him and follows him into the hot and dangerous desert. He finds him the same day. Will they survive in the desert and all its dangers? How will they get back home? And will they find out why they are digging these holes? I had no problems reading the book because the language and sentences are relatively easy and there is a vocabulary help under the pages. In my opinion the book is suitable for youths between 14 and 16 because you need to understand a lot of facts to understand the book. The novel holes is a quite interesting book about friendship and one of the better books I read at school. But I would not read it in personal. I would recommend this book to English classes because the book is not too bad and there are lot of worse books that your teachers can make you read.

Stanley Yelnats, the main actor in this book, was arrested for something he never had done. There is a long history of the Yelnats family. There is a curse. It was the guilty of Stanley's great great grandfather. He stole a pig from a gipsy. Back to Stanley. He was at the wrong time at the wrong place. That's always the case of Stanley. The court decided to send STanley to Camp Green Lake. There was a boot Camp. Stanley prefered to go to Camp Green Lake instead of going into prison. At the boot camp he has to dig a hole every day. Everyone in this Camp has to do it. The Counselors say that it builds characters. But Stanley thinks, there is another reason. But which one?! Stanley is often in conflicts which the other boys. But one boy is absolutly great to Stanley. He is called Zero. Both run away because they were always bothered by the other boys. But they decided to go back to camp to find the thing which is all about in the book. For me as a German it was very easy to read. It's written in a very normal english style. I liked it to read. I think the book is for teens. Because it is written in a very good style and the history is played by teens, too. My opinion of the book i a very good one. I really can everyone recommend the book. Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The book "Holes" in my eyes Review: Holes is written by Louis Sachar and was published in 1998. This special versin of the novel costs $6,50 (USA-Version). This version is a bit more difficult then the English version, because you don't have got a vocab help like in the English version. It is written in an easy English and so it is for everybody understandable. The book is written in a modern style and links two stories in one book. (montage) I find the book realy exciting! The novel is not a fiction, but a possible story and so the reader will have a closer connection to the book. The novel is about a boy, who is send to a camp for an innocent crime. This "camp" is not realy a camp. It is a kind of boot camp. The boy, who is called Stanley, has to dig every day one hole. The boys in the camp have to dig for a special reason, but they don't know the reason. Later, it will get realy exciting. Stanley will notices about his past and his future in this camp.
