Who gave him the curse? His No-Good-Pig-Stealing-Great-Great-Grandfather! This book is fantasic!!!! When Stanely is charge with theft he has to go to Camp Green Lake. This is no Girl Scouts! This is a charater improvment facltiy! In Texas there used to be a lake called Green Lake. One day it dried up complety and no water could be found. From a peaceful pinic place to a charater improvment facilty there has always been somthing weird going on at Green Lake. Louis Sachar has outdone himself. This book is great! It is the 2nd one on my favorite book list! The 1st is Harry Potter. I think the next book I will read is "There is a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom!" by Louis Sachar too. This is great! Everyone in my class liked it! I was the only one that had not read it, so a gave it a try...and it was great! Worth all the money!!!!!!!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Holes By:Louis Sachar Review: I liked the book "Holes" because it was very different from any other book that I've read. It was very interesting and it explained the characters well. There was also alot of description used in describing the setting. "Holes" was an easy book to get hooked on.I think the best part of this book was when Stanley ran away from Camp Green Lake to look for his friend, Zero. It was an adventurous part of the book when Zero and Stanley ran away from the camp in search of a better place to stay. The worst part of the book was the ending because I think it ended too fast and not in enough detail. The author did a good job in trying to let the reader visualize the setting. The book kept describing the different characteristics of Camp Green Lake, like how hot and dry it was, and the size of the holes the boys who were sent to Camp Green Lake had to dig. Behind the camp, there were many trees and a big mountain. But the strangest thing about Camp Green Lake is that there is no lake. The author also does a good job describing the characters. Each character's personality seemed to match their description. Every person at Camp Green Lakehad an excellent description that made it easy to visualize what every person looked and acted like. Overall, I think the book "Holes" was a really good book, and i would recommend it to anyone.

This is a good book because of all the things that happened. The first reason I like this book is when Stanley could barley dig his first hole. The second reason I like this is when Zero stole the sunflower seeds. The final reason I like this book was when Stanley ran away to look for Zero. Those are the reasons I like Holes.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: An Adventure in Holes Review: Our class read Holes - a few chapters each day. At the end of our reading, we always wanted to see what would happen next. Holes was exciting because it had three different stories running throughout, and they all came together at the end. We found it surprising, shocking, entertaining, and suspenseful. However, there were some parts that we didn't like as much. The book created many questions that were not answered until the end. We disagreed with some of the moral issues. All in all, we thought it was one of the better books we have read and would recommend it highly.

It is a marvelous book which tells about a boy who goes to a camp called Camp Green Lake. They have to dig holes everyday as a punishment. One of the reasons I enjoyed this book this is because it tells about daily life, and how you need to try not to get in a lot of trouble because as they say in the real world "you do the crime you have to pay the time". A second reason I found this book so interesting is because the same boy who gets sent to camp meets a boy who did the crime that a different did. So in other words the boy was framed. My favorite part of this book, which I love so much is when both of the boys decide to run away together, and they have to onions in order to survive for the rest of the time being. So as you can see Holes by Louis Sachar is my favorite book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Three Great Reasons Why to Read Holes Review: Holes, by Louis Sachar, is a wonderful novel, and I have three great reasons why. For one, this book takes you from everyday life into the life of Stanley Yelnats. Stanley Yelnats is accused of stealing a very valuable pair of sneakers and is sentenced to a horrifying facility called Camp Green Lake. On the bus ride to Camp Green Lake, you can feel the bumpy, scorching ride that Stanley has to go threw. It's as if you are actually sitting next to him, as the words take through his life. This story also keeps the reader wondering, "What will happen next?" In Camp Green Lake the kids must dig a hole five feet deep and five feet wide everyday through the blistering heat. When Stanley is digging his hole as usual, he is waked up side the head with a shovel! This spices up the story making it fun to read. Finally, this novel makes you feel hungry as it describes foods. Long ago in Camp Green Lake Ms.Katherine baked fresh spiced peaches. The peaches sent a fresh spicy sent into the air every time she was baking the delicacy. You can just feel yourself eating these luscious peaches! In conclusion, I hope my three great reasons have inspired you to read this book.

I like Holes because it relates to me.In the story Stanley is sent away to Camp Green Lake.At the camp Stanley, along with other kids, has to dig holes 5 feet long, and 5 feet deep. I wasn't sent to a camp when I got grounded. I also didn't have to dig holes that deep. Another reason I like this book is that it is very detailed. My days are pretty much like the books days. Another thing I like about this book is the nicknames the boys have. I have a few nicknames like Weirdo,Freak, and Crazy. Those aren't the nicknames I wan't though. All of my reasons I like this book makes it my favorite. I hope I have inspired you to read this book.
