Rating: Summary: Holes in a Boy's Heart Review: This book is about a boy names Stanley Yelnats, who is wrongfully accused of stealing a baseball star's sneakers from a homeless shelter. As a result, he is sentenced to 18 horrible months of digging seemingly pointless holes at Camp Greenlake. While Stanley is at 'camp', he meets someone who ends up as being more than a sellmate to him in this prison(which is a big deal considering he didn't have very many friends at home). His name is Zero. People tend to pick on Zero because he doesn't talk as much as others do, but he's actually very smart, and Stanley won't let anyone say anything negative about his new friend. When Zero runs away, Stanley knows that he must go after him. Stanley and Zero find refuge on a mountain they call 'God's Thumb'. In the end, all the wrongs are writed, and Stanley gets to go home, and, he actually did build some character digging those awful 5x5 Holes.
Rating: Summary: Holes (A review by Jason) Review: There is no lake in Camp Green Lake. What kind of start is that? Well, if you want to know, you came to the right person. This book is called Holes. It is an adventure book you'll never forget. Holes tells you about Stanley, a boy that believes his family is under a spell. This is Stanley's proof: he was walking home from school when a pair of shoes that belonged to a popular baseball player named Clyde Livingston or known as "Sweet Feet" hit him. Stanley is sent to to Camp Green Lake because everyone thought he stole the shoes. Stanley turns from good boy to bad boy or a D-tent boy. When the warden is to find something, Stanley and his buddy Zero are gaining on her. When Stanley finds this thing the warden wants, will he get to go home? I really liked Holes because it takes you on an adventure that won't forget. They even made a it into a movie. It grabs the reader's mind opinions. They really want to learn more about it . "There is no lake in Camp Green Lake". This sentence grabs the reader and makes the reader and takes him or her guessing what is Camp Green Lake , where is it. If you read this book already, did you enjoy it? I hope you liked it like me because it is reallya good book for reading. I started reading it in the summer. Everyone usually kind of gets in trouble sometime in school. But how does Stanley get in trouble for what he didn't do? Stanley is really not easy to be if you were in his shoes because Stanley faces trouble like the shoe stealing and just takes the blame. Most people will say something to try to get themselves into, but not Stanley. In Holes, it doesn't really tell much about Stanley's friends. They are Zigzag, Armpit, Magnet, Zero, X-Ray, and Squid. The story really only talks about him and his great-great grandfather. It doesn't really talk about what happened after Stanley and Zero returned home. Zero's real name is Hector Zeroni. My favorite part of the story is when Stanley and Zero finds what the warden wants, the gold. It really belonged to Stanley. It even had his name on it. I chose this as my favorite part because I want that box of gold and it could buy me a fortune.

Rating: Summary: Maria's Point of View Review: Stanley Yelnats lives in the present in a city with his poor family. Stanley is sent to Camp Green Lake, because he was accused of stealing a famous pair of shoes from an Orphanage. When Stanley got to Camp Green Lake he was surprised to see no lake but a bunch of holes. The holes and flying dust were from the other boys at Camp Green Lake. Mr. Sir, a grouchy counselor said, "If you take a bad boy and you make him dig a hole everyday, you can change him into a good boy." So, as Stanley dug everyday, he made friends. When Stanley realizes that the warden at the Camp was looking for something, it was too late. His best friend, Zero, had run off with no food or water outside of Camp Green Lake. The next day, Stanley ran off to find Zero. When Stanley found Zero, Zero and Stanley saw a mountain. This particular mountain looked like God's Thumb. Hours later, they got to the top of God's Thumb. On the top of God's Thumb was water and wild onions. After they stayed for a couple of days, they sneaked back to Camp Green Lake. At night, Zero sneaked back into the Camp to get some food, while Stanley dug to find what the warden was looking for, treasure! Almost an hour later, Zero came back with food. After they ate, Zero went into the hole to help Stanley dig and look. Stanley was in luck, because Zero was the fastest digger in the whole entire Camp Green Lake. Will Zero and Stanley find the lost treasure? They kept digging. Suddenly, they heard a thud. I recommend that this book is great, and I think people who read this book are great.

Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Louis Sachar writes a great book about a boy named stanley. When he has a troubled run in with the law. And was sentenced to a boot camp name Camp Green Lake. Where their punishment was digging holes that had certin dimesions. This book is geared toward a medium aged audeince, I would say 9-15. This book is trilling and is a great book to read to a class. I haven't meet one person that hasn't not liked it yet.I would suggest that anyone who can read this book. This book is also very suspenceful and will keep kids on the edge of their seats.
Rating: Summary: Louis Sachar's BEST book ever Review: This story is full of catches. You'll want to read more after every chapter. At Camp Green Lake, you would think that it is a camp, with a lake that is green. WELL it's not!!! It's a Juvenile Detention Facility, with dried up land, that used to be a lake. It has identical holes all around it. In Stanley Yelnats' case, it's not easy to build a 5 feet deep 5 feet across hole everyday. Just read and find out the suspense in this awsome book!!!
Rating: Summary: HOLES Review: Holes, When i first started reading the book holes it was very interesting.I couldn't put the book down and at the end of every chapter there was a cliffhanger.I rate this book 4 stars because it was fun and it had a lot of interesting facts about Stanley Yelants and his family life.Like the curse that his great-great grandfather gave him.THe book was also kind of sad because Stanley had to go to a juvenile detention camp for something he didn't do.While Stanley is at the juvenile detention camp, he has a hard time digging up the holes due to the incredible heat and the hard, dry land. While Stanley is there at the dry juvenile detention camp he makes new friends. His new frineds are,X-Ray,Zero,and many other new people.Zero becomes Stanley's new friend and later on in the story there friendship starts to build up and shares a great bond with each other. Then, towards the end Zero runs away from the camp, so Stanley follows Zero a few days later.Stanley then finds Zero sitting down on a rock,Zero is too weak.So Stanley helps Zero to reach the top of the mountain, which turns out to be the old onion field. Since Zero is very weak Stanley carries him up the mountain. For at least one week they survived on onions before returning to the juvenile. When both of them return to the camp, they dig up the same hole that they found the lipstick tube. Finally, after digging for so long they hit something.Which was a suitcase that had the name Stanley Yelants.A few seconds later the warden finds them and tries to grab the suitcase from them, but they manage to grab it before the warden could snatch it.Later on, Stanley finds out that the suitcase belonged to his great-grandfather who was also named Stanley Yelants. It turns out that the suitcase had many valuable things inside it, that Kate Barlow wanted to get. I loved this book and it is one of my favorites, also there is also a movie about the book, but I think that the book is better. The movie also has little facts about Holes.
Rating: Summary: Cool Book... Review: I just think this book is so cool!! It's about a boy named Stanley Yelnats (Yelnats is Stanley spelled backwards~ get it?!) who is blamed on for stealing a pair of sneakers (he's really innocent). The judge sends him to a camp called "Camp Green Lake". The kids there dig a hole everyday to build character, according to the Warden, but they are really looking for tresure for the Warden. There's this guy named Zero and he wants to learn to read. If you want to find out what happened, READ THE BOOK!!!!!

Boys are sent there to dig holes as their punishment. While at camp Stanely has many problems. He blames them on his no good-dirty-rotten-pig stealing-grandfather. While at camp he meets and boy named Zero. They become very good friends and help each other through the good times and bad. Stanley teaches Zero how to read and Zero helps Stanley did his holes.
