Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Awesome Review: Stanley Yelnats isn't a bad kid. In fact, he's a great kid who never did anything wrong. But he is sent to camp Green Lake for stealing a pair of shoes belonging to a famous baseball player that were to be auctioned off to help needy kids. Did he [take] them? No. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.Years ago, Stanley's great-grandfather was robbed by the famous outlaw Kissin' Kate Barlow and lost a fortune.. Even before that, the first Stanley has a curse laid on his family for breaking a promise to a elderly lady that helped him when he needed it. Louis Sacher has managed to weave multiple stories into a masterful book that, in my opinion, is his very finest. I can not recommend this book enough. Although it is intended for kids adults should read this too. This, Wringer, and The Giver are perhaps the best ever books for kids of their type.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: really good book!! Review: I wasn't interested in reading this book, until my friend invited me to the see the movie with her. She told me that I could go only if I had read the book. Well, the movie looked pretty good so I picked up the book from the library. It was awesome! Louis Sachar (the author) uses three different stories to write this one big story. It's almost like a jigsaw puzzle. They seem to have nothing to do with each other but then, in the end, they all fit together perfectly. The characters were portrayed very well and I found myself feeling as if I was in the book and standing right alongside them. The movie also helped me understand it. So if you need a way to spend an afternoon I recommend reading the book (it is a pretty easy read) and then going to see the movie. (which was also really good!)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: Holes is one of my favorite books. It is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. I like the fact that his name is the same forwards and backwards. Well Stanley has a curse on him because a long time ago a member of his family cheated out a gypsy. The gypsy put a curse on his family. Well the males at least. I like this book because there is a lot going on. I would recommend that everyone should read this book because it is easy to read and very entertaining. I love the books that Louis Sachar writes. I especially recommend this book to Louis Sachar fans.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is an excellent book! Review: I found Holes, by Louis Sachar, an engaging, quick read. The personalities and delinquencies of the various characters are exceptionally vivid. I usually prefer books that are more fantastic and unreal, but Holes suited my fancy anyway. This book evoked my sympathy and anger at characters without being so manipulative of the emotions that I couldn?t think for myself. I love how, every now and then, chapters skip to events that happened long ago but are incredibly relevant to the on-going plot. This gives you a whole new set of characters to love or hate. These side stories may not seem to have a purpose, but the book wouldn?t make sense without them. Overall, Holes was intriguing, and I couldn?t put it down until I had read it cover to cover.

I read this book a day before I saw the movie and was taken away with it's Brilliant plot and resolution!! So, how else can I say that it is anything but perfect?: It includes mystery and adventure as Stanley Yelnats (and the reader, of coarse) solves a connection so great between his past and his future that his whole life is changed! On the way to resolving this the story has adventure, mystery, journey, discovery, and including the emotions of fear and romance. Louis Sachar has also done a fantastic job at creating chacters that come to life as each word of this book is read. I recomend this book to anyone who wants to read the perfect book.

But the saying is "Don't judge a book by it's cover" which is apparently true. I started reading it one night-and couldn't stop! I wasn't a big fan of Louis Sachar until I read 'Holes'. Now I've probably read 'Holes' 3 times since I read it last year. It's a truly amazingly good book.

Well, if you do, you should read the book called Holes, by Louis Sacher. This story is about an over weight kid called Stanley Yelnats. Stanley is pretty poor, likes animals, and is kind to other people. It all started one day when he took a pair of shoes from a famous baseball player with out knowing it. Later on that day the police caught him and he was sent to a place called Camp Green Lake. There was no lake in Camp Green Lake. The whole camp was, in fact, just a petite encampment in the middle of nowhere. Every day, Stanley and his companions: Zero, Armpit, X-ray, and Zigzag have to dig a hole 5 feet in length of every way! This was said that it would improve your character, but is that really factual? One day, when Stanley was digging his hole, he found a lipstick container that had KB printed on it. That was when he thought that maybe digging holes was for another reason like to find treasures from along time ago. Is Stanley correct, or is he mistaken? To find out, read the book! I really recommend this book to everyone because, the author keeps the story exciting and only inform the huge secret at the ending. So, if you think this book sounds interesting, get it now!!!
