Summary: Best book ever written
Review: According to my 10-year old daughter this is the best book ever written. Yes, even better than Harry Potter. My daughter wanted to see the movie but I bought her the book to read first. She kept her nose in the book at every free moment. Anytime we were in the car, she was reading. If we were in the grocery store, she was sitting in the grocery cart reading. At night after tucking her in I would catch her reading this book by the glow of her flashlight. My daughter is an avid reader but I've never seen her fall in love with a book the way she did this one. If you're a parent that's trying to decide whether or not to purchase this book, buy it! My daughter has since finished her Holes book. The cover is bent and some of the pages have fallen out because she literally took this book everywhere she went.

Summary: A book that reminds you why you fell in love with books...
Review: I finished this book in a day. Not just because the writing is easy to read, but because every time I put it down, I found myself picking it up again.

The story weaves together the stories of several characters from different times and circumstances. You sense how one person may be influenced by many others (even those he has never met), and in turn how he may impact them.

Holes is about character and friendship and failing and trying again. It is a lively myth full of feeling and symbolism. But it is never heavy or didactic.

It is the kind of book you anticipate reading again before you have even finished it the first time. It is one of those stories you want to share with your children (even if you don't yet have children).

Stanley is remarkable because he is not so very different from any of us - and that makes the best kind of protagonist.

Review: Holes is a Yearling Newbery book. It's mostly about a desert
curse. It takes place in Texas. I like it because it's like a
jigsaw puzzle. If you like adventures you'll like this book.

Review: Hi, this is Louis Sachar. I have written many books, but my favorite and most succesful book has been Holes. Starting from a book into a movie has been one of the grandest accomplishments for me as a writer. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I had making it. This book has been read by over 1,000,000 kids in this nation and over 100,000 adults in the USA. Amazon.com is the best place to buy books let me tell you that much. It has the lowest prices and the best book selection. I buy all of my books from there. If you really are a reader than you shop at Amazon.com or Amazon. Well, hope you enjoy your shopping!

Summary: Holes
Review: Holes is about a boy named Stanley yelnats who was sent to a juvenile detainment camp ( Camp Green Lake ) where bad kids are forced to dig holes each day. Water is scarce yet discipline is plenty. The people he meets there are out of the ordinary with names like armpit, x-ray & zigzag, he becomes close to one in particular Zero. It is still a mystery to Standley why they must dig holes every day, little by little those questions are answered. This book has a great story line & the reader won't want to put the book.

Summary: Holes Review By: Nicole
Review: Holes, By: Louis Sacher is a story about a teenage boy who is caught stealing shoes from the famous baseball player, "Sweet Feet". The judge sentences Stanley Yelnats to spend time at Camp Green Lake. The boys at Camp Green Lake dig holes five feet deep and five feet wide to "build character". Later in the book you find out the real reason they are digging the holes. During his time at Camp Green Lake, Stanley acquires a nickname, Caveman, and he builds friendships, especially with Zero who he teaches to read and write. Later on, during the night, Zero runs away from the camp, but no one except Caveman is worried. Later, Caveman goes after him. You will have to read the book to find out if Zero and Caveman make it back alive, after facing the harsh desert conditions without food or water.
Louis Sacher writes Holes so you can see through the eyes of a juvenile delinquent who was falsely accused. It also teaches you to keep moving forward even if you think you can't.
