Summary: A Great Book for Boys
Review: Holes is a great book for boys from 10 to 15 years old. The book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats, whose family as a long history of bad luck thanks to a curse place on his Great, Great Grandfather. Knowing this Stanley is not too surprised when he finds himself being blamed for a crime that he did not do and that he could not prove that he did not do. Because of this Stanley is sent to a boy's camp call Camp Green Lake. On the way to Camp Green Lake Stanley is looking forward to going to a camp and getting to go swimming in the lake. The only problem is that once he gets to Camp Green Lake there is no lake. The only things there are a few building and a lot of holes. Stanley soon learns that the boys punishment for being sent to Camp Green Lake is that they have to dig holes that are five feet deep and five feet across where the lake used to be over a hundred years ago. According to the lady warden this type of punishment helps the boys build character. But Stanley is not to sure about that or if the boys that he meet at the camp needs to build anymore character. In Holes you will see some unlike friendship develop (Stanley and Zero), a families bad luck turn to good luck and if you don't like onions this book just might change your mind about that especially if you also don't like lizards!!! Holes really is a wonderful book for boys who like adventures.

Summary: Holes
Review: Holes was a very interesting book. The twists and turns in the plot made you want to keep on reading. The author was very skilled at putting the story together. I liked how everything fit together in the end. I also liked how there were so many coincidences. It made it seem like everything that happened was supposed to happen. Like it was fate.

Summary: Holes Review
Review: This was a spectacular movie and the book was even better. I personally enjoyed the book more because it painted a better picture in my mind even thought the movie showed me everything about it visually. There were quite a few things that were either left out or added to the movie that wasn't in the book. I read the book and the same day I finished it I watched the movie with a good friend of mine and she said that she liked it a lot also. I strongly suggest this book for anyone.

Summary: Great!
Review: The best part of Holes is everything comes together in the end and your not totally clueless about it but you're definatly not filled in 100%. Its a great thing because Holes the Movie is the only movie based on a book that didn't leave any thing out because they couldn't or the story wouldn't make sence.

Summary: Holes is not just for kids!
Review: My children read this book in school and I was intriqued by what I heard about it. So!! I picked it up and started to read it and never put it down (a few happy hours later) until I was done! I absolutely loved the story and characters. You could almost experience being in the dried up lake with them! I especially liked how Mr. Sachar intertwined 2 stories, one of the past and ancestors and the other of the present Stanley, to come up with one wonderful story and ending. What a wonderful book for readers of any age! If your kids have read this in school, read it for yourself so that you are not missing out on a really enjoyable experience that you can share with your kids.

Summary: Holes is a great book!!
Review: Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. Stanley was made fun of at school beacuse he was a little over weight. He was blamed for a crime. So, he had to choose to go to prison or Camp Greenlake. The judge didn't let Stanley and his parents check the Camp out. So, he figured it would be better than prison.
Read this book to find out if it was.

Summary: A must buy book
Review: This book speaks to both early teens and adults. I taught this to my ED class last year. They barely moved as we were reading this aloud or listening to it on tape. They always wanted to read more - a rare and delightful situation. The book is funny, touching, sad, and heart-warming all at the same time. You need to buy this and the companion book Stanley Yelnat's Survival Guide.

Summary: Easy read for the long summer days
Review: Holes is an easy yet interesting read for those long summer days that await you. While the language is simple and does not need much concentration, the plot is woven wonderfully, pulling things that had seemed to be of no importance into a knot at the end.

In Holes, three stories of three different times are included.

There is a boy, Stanley Yelnats, who was wrongly accused of a crime and sent to Camp Green Lake to make him a "good boy."

There is a gypsy, pigs, mountains, a beautiful girl (with a head as empty as a flowerpot). There is a curse when promises are not fulfilled.

There is a black man, who is punished for kissing a white woman. There is the outlaw Kissin' Kate Barlow, who steals a man's riches, kills him, and then kisses him.

In this book issues such as racism, morals, and justice are addressed in a way that is not boring to children yet is interesting for older readers to pick up on.

Fantastic book. Recommended for all ages.

Summary: The great book Holes
Review: Holes is a great book for people who like mysteries. In this book there is a lot more than one mystery, there is many. Stanley gets blamed for something he didn't do and gets sent to a camp where he has to dig holes. And eventualy, he figures out all of the mysteries, and Stanley gets what he always wanted. I would totally recomend it because it is a great book and has a lot of adventure.
