Review: Have you ever dug a hole five feet deep and five wide? This book is called Holes by Louis Sachar. This book is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats, that goes to this camp called Camp Green Lake. You might think it's a very cool camp, with a lake and very cool service! Well you're wrong, it is the worst camp ever!! The problem in this story is that the warden and Mr. Sir are trying to find things about KATE BARLOW. Kate Barlow is someone in the past. How is Caveman going to solve this problem? How is he going to ignore the warden, Mr.Sir and Mr.Pendanski? I'll give you a hint, let's hope Stanly and Zero live long enough to find something that will change them foerever. I highly recommend this book to you; it's an exciting, wonderful book!!!

Summary: Do yourself a favor and read Holes
Review: Holes is the only book I have read more than twice. It is also the only book my parents dont have to beg me to read, I do on my own. Holes is my all time favorite book. I like this book because it has all the different types of characters that a good story or book needs. It has the "new kid," bullies, punks, nerds, and so on. Also the one kid who is different amingst the rest, that dare not speak much. Holes has a good point to it, and it took me 2 times to read it to figure it out because it was so good. No it's not just about a kid who goes to a hole digging camp, and no there not only digging holes for disciplin. At camp Green Lake, there is no lake, but there is shanties made into cabins for kids, that dig 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide holes, with two nasty camp rulers. I dont want to tell anymore about this book, you have to find it out yourself, i am not going to spoil the fun. Please do me, you, and the world a favor and READ HOLES!!!

Summary: a tool to turn you good
Review: AHoles, holes, what are holes, are they a way to turn a juvenile delinquent into an upstanding citizen. At camp green lake this is what the warden tells them. Camp green lake is a facility for juvenile delinquents. It is out in the middle of nowhere and they have the only water for thousands of miles. Stanley yelnats a 13 year old boy is sent there because it is believed that he stole a pair of shoes. He is also there to " change". Well here is the scoop on Stanley. He is sort of overweight and without friends. He is often tormented by a bully named Derrick. He is the reason that he misses the bus. As he is walking home the problem that got him sent to Camp Green Lake. He is pretty scared that he will be going to a correctional facility. When he gets there he meets all of the "delinquents". He must dig a hole everyday. He meets Hector Zeroni A.K.A Zero. They form a strong bond although they are very different. One day Zero runs away, and Stanley must go after him. Without water he must track him down. When he finds him he and Zero must journey to the mountain to find water. On the way they discover the secrets of Camp Green Lake. To find out more about Stanley and Zero read the book Holes by Louis Sacher.

Summary: Delightful tale about an old family curse & buried treasure
Review: This book is a delightful tale about a boy, a curse, some stinky shoes, and a treasure. Stanley (the protagonist) is sent to a youth camp where to build character the inmates have to dig a round 5 ft by ft deep hole every day of their incarceration. Stanley thinks he is there because of an old family curse involving his pig stealing great great grandfather who forgot to pay off the fortuneteller Madame Zeroni for her advice before coming to America. Soon a plot develops where Stanley befriends the great great great great grandson of Madame Zeroni and teaches him to read. Together they discover the secret that the Warden wants the boys to find. Stanley breaks the curse, and without giving away the ending, the Warden and Mr. Sir (the overseer) get their just desserts.

At the end, everything is explained, the curse is broken, and everyone is happy, including Stanley's inventor father, his grumpy grandfather, and Madame Zeroni's great great great grandson.

This book is nicely written for the 5th grade crowd, and an adventure that will keep you turning page after page. Highly recommended.

Review: This was one of Luis's best masterpieces. This non-stop page turning book will keep you on the edge of your seat and it keeps you wondering what will happen next to Stanley Yelnants. Anyone who is looking to read a book that is fun and easy to read is going to be amazed. I have not heard anyone say anything bad about this book. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it when it first came out. actually this book was so good that it had a movie made after it. Luis is an adult, but knows what a kid likes and laughs at. therefore i give this book five stars.
