Summary: Humorous! Read it now!!
Review: This book was really good. I don't think adults will appreciate it as much as 9-13 year olds will. It starts with a boy named Stanley Yelnats who must go to a camp where all they do is dig holes in 100 degree weather. The camp is for kids who committ crimes.

Summary: A delightfully quirky tale
Review: Sachar has created an amazing and interesting cast of characters in Holes. Quirky, offbeat, and downright bizarre people punctuate the plot which moves along in a most unpredictable way. The story twists and turns in time and yet is neatly woven together. A fun read.

Summary: A fantastic book!
Review: A wonderful read aloud book for fifth graders. Children are on the edge of their seats waiting to know what will happen next. The author does a wonderful job with the characters and had my class always asking for more. The best I've read aloud in a long time!!!

Summary: A must-read for any age!!!
Review: "Holes" was definitely the best book that I read in all of 1998. Not only is it touching, it is funny and anyone can relate to it. I would recommend this book to anyone....of any age. It's a great story (and has a story within the story). An EXCELLENT choice for the Newbery award.

Summary: this was a very good book.
Review: i really liked this book. the way the two stories came together is so great. previously, i never took Mr. Sachar's books seriously because they seemed like jokes. this book is very different. The story of a boy acused of a crime he didnt do and theboy he met who has a story to tell him!! The adventure Stanley Yelnats and Zero have is amazing.
