Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: there is something about this book....? Review: All I can say is, take notes as you read this book. Stanley goes to Camp Green Lake for stealing the shoes of a famous baseball player. He digs a hole every day. He also uncovers a family secret...however, you yourself must figure out the secret. So take notes or you'll be lost. I haven't even figured it out myself yet.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great book with action, adventure, and sympatheticness. Review: I am a 6th grader in Phoenix, Az and I'd reccomend this book to anyone who can read. If you dug a hole once a day because you were wrongfully accused would you put up with it. Well not me. Stanley Yelnats is an overweight child with a pair of sneakers that fall from the sky. He now is acussed of theft and makes the choice to go to Camp Green Lake rather than jail. He thinks it'll be okay. When he gets there he can't find a lake anywhere. He learns that he has to dig a hole 5 feet deep and five feet wide on every side each day. His friend Zero is constantly being made fun of and finally runs away. Stanley decides to start to look for him a few days after. He steals the water truck but it breaks down and then he runs. He catches up with his friend and they eat as much as they can until there's no more food. You can find out what happens next.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: How many times did I cry? Review: This was an absolutely wonderful read. I felt so sorry for Stanley. I didn't understand the symbolism because I put down the book for a month. But when I got to the end, and understood all of the meaning therein, I cried my eyes out. I know that Louis Sacher will become one of our best young people's writers. This will become a MUST in our library.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A must read-read for kids 10 and up Review: I am a teacher in a multi-aged classroom and as I am reading this book there is total silence as the kids immerse themselves in the story (what child has not been unjustly accused at some time in their life and has just dealt with it). That is Stanley's strength. The kids beg me daily not to stop so that it is test of wills between us,"Well, ok just one more chapter." I am looking forward more books of this caliber from Mr. Sachar
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best of Louis Sachar! Review: And you thought the Wayside School series was hilarious. While not as silly as his previous books, HOLES is still very entertaining. It is his best work, so far. Am anxiously waiting for his next book. Stanley was innocent when he got sent to Camp Green Lake. But he gains new friends and courage at camp. Plus, find out what the holes are REALLY for!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent! Review: I know what the newberry judges were thinking, they were thinking that every kid who lives and breathes would like a book like this. I hated reading before, but after i got this from the "Easter Bunny", it changed my views! I recommend this to everyone! Kids AND adults!
