Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A highly reccomened boof for young readers. Review: Personaly I think this is a really great book. I like how the book goes back in time to tell Stanley's history and the tale of his "no good, dirty, rotten, pig stealing, great, great grandfather". Another one of the coolest parts is when Stanley sees "God's thumb" one day during a thunder storm a climbs to the top of it. This book is AWESOME!!!!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A WODERFUL FUNNY BOOK!!! Review: Holes is the best book I ever read. The curse on Stanlsy family is funny. This book is definetly a book worth reading.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The book's humor makes it worth wile reading. Review: The book is about a boy named Stanely. He gets in trouble for doing something he didn't do. So he is sent to Camp Green Lake (a concentration camp) where he is told to dig a hole the length of his shovel on the base and the height of the hole. The problem is that he has to dig the hole in the heat of Texas. In the book he finds friends with strange names like Zigzag, X-ray, and Armpit. He also makes some enemies like Mr. Sir, the Warden, and many others. I liked Stanely because of his determination to do things. Like he always wanted to know what was on top of 'the thumb'. He also wanted to teach Zero how to read and write.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I really liked the setting because it fit well with the book Review: This book is really fasinating. It had great realistic characters. Stanley deserves a 10! He showed pride and he never gave up. Zero is my favorite character because he was so quiet at the beginning and then he wanted to learn and stand up for himself. This is a perfect for teens.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Twisty. I loved how you went back in time. Review: This book had many plots. I love that! I liked how it was all involved with the future and the past. With the Great Great Grandparents. I loved how there was a big curse on everything like the lake and on Stanley's family. I loved how everything that happened in the past was tied up with the future. For example: I got everything in the book except one thing. I didn't relize that in the end the yellow-spotted lizards didn't bite Stanley and Zero because they had onion blood in them. That's the only time I didn't make the connection with the past and future. I only relized that when my mother (We read the book together) pionted it out to me. VERY TWISTY BOOK! I LOVED IT SO MUCH! NOTE TO THE AUTHOR: WRITE MORE BOOKS JUST LIKE THIS ONE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You! Sincerly, Tricia Pugsley*

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Brilliant, Louis Sachar does it again! Review: I'm 22, an avid reader or children's literature and was suprised at how intelligent this novel was. Growing up, I didn't have a lot of money, so now, as I read these novels, and the latest Newberry's, it's good to see that among a lot of trash that is being published, there still is high quality writing out there. I'm glad that this was chosen for a Newberry. I never once found this book boring and I will recommend it to my future students and younger family members.
