Rating: Summary: exciting, thrilling Review: HOLES taught me to look deeper inside of others and in helping others you receive rewards. These rewards include self-perseverence, more kindness and gratitude and self-pride which cna't be bought by money. Somethings cannot be found by looking but only by perseverence and honesty.
Rating: Summary: This is a wonderful book Review: This book was so great I couldn't put it down! I read it all in one night. It is jam packed with entertainment from the first page to the last!! Read this book I gurentee you'll love it
Rating: Summary: A book that kids love! Review: After reading about Holes on Amazon and ordering a copy, I read it and was certain that 12/13 year old boys I teach would lap it up. I then introduced it to the 4 classes in our area of the school and in less than 3 weeks it has been read by 10 boys and more want to read it. Each boy reads it in 2/3 days and raves about it. What makes it popular? Asking my pupils, they say because it's different and they also liked the history of the lake, both past and present. Basically, good stories like Holes will always be enjoyed. The fact that we live in New Zealand hasn't affected the enjoyment level, and this is another plus. Try and get hold of a copy today, no matter where in the world you live!
Rating: Summary: This is a book report. Review: It was a good book about a prison camp where water is rationed and workers have to dig big holes and the counselers and Warden are mean and they have names like Armpit and Barf Bag.
Rating: Summary: If you like this book..... Review: Than you will LOVE J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter books! Harry Potter is 100000000000000 times better than Holes, but look what I gave Holes!
Rating: Summary: my favorite!!!! Review: it is cool and you just cant put it down! you should definetely read it
Rating: Summary: Best book in ages!!! Review: This book was great in so many different ways. I also think it attracts such a veriety of ages. The plot was a little slow in the beggining but it wakes up a little in to the middle of the book.As I said it is the best book (not including Harry Potter of course) in ages.My hats of to Louis Sacher. It was really top draw.
Rating: Summary: An unusual book with a very satisfying conclusion. Review: At first I didn't like it very well, (but I'm a school librarian so I persisted) and midway through the book I began to see the genious of it. An alert reader will soon learn that every little detail in this book is significant. They all fit together beautifully to a very satisfying conclusion. It was fun to watch Stanley's character develop throughout the book. I will definitely recomend it to my young readers.
Rating: Summary: Sachers best book yet!!!!!!!!! Review: Stanley Yelnets has a wonderful imaganation and is discribed wonderfully stanley is ,accused of a grime he did not commit and is sent to Gamp Green Lake a dry waste land with no sign of life besides the other crimanals there. stanley is determended to find the truth about why they must dig the holes everday. he goes on a exciting adventure to find the buried truth.
Rating: Summary: Simply A Great Book Review: HOLES is a great book about Stanley Yelnats, who is wrongfully acused of stealing Clyde Livingston's (a famous baseball player) shoes. He is taken to Camp Green Lake, a section of desert where there used to be a lake. As their punishment, they must each dig a 5 foot diameter hole, 5 feet deep. Simply a great book.
