Rating: Summary: This book was better than a lucious lollypop in July. Review: The book Holes was one of the best books I read all year. Tt had a very exciting plot that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole book. It also had a funny side to it with it's many jokes. The best part of the book was when they excape from the juvinial detention facility to the mountain because it slaps you around and when it is over it leaves you screaming for more.
Rating: Summary: Best book ever written since the bible!!!!!! Review: This book was about a boy who had a pretty miserable life. He was well, a large boy. His name was Stanley Yelnats and was framed for stealing a pair of shoes that were going to be auctioned. Stanley got aent to a juvenile detention facility in the middle of a desert. This facility was called Camp Green Lake. The weird thing about the place was you dug holes to build "character". There was actually a real reason they dug holes and Stanley decides to find out why. I loved this book because Mr.Sachar used vivid and imaginitive writing while writing. In fact I read the 233 page book in under 24 hours.
Rating: Summary: Once the story started, no listener wanted it to end. Review: I work in an elementary school library and the librarian read chapter 4 out loud to third and fourth grade students. This led to a reserve list of 25 waiting for the book. With the school year drawing to a close, there was no way all the students would get a chance to read HOLES so we started a HOLES lunch group and I read the book over the student's 1/2 lunch time while they ate. No student ever missed a lunch group meeting! After each session the students tried to guess what would happen next. I have never had such an attentive group of students! Thank you Louis Sachar!
Rating: Summary: This is the BEST book!!!!:) Review: this is the BEST book that i have ever read!!!
Rating: Summary: Best Book I ever Read!! Review: It is like a jigsaw puzzle that is fun but challenging. I say Louis did a great job thinking of how to write this book. I bet it was hard to do that.
Rating: Summary: I'm a 43 year old man and I loved HOLES. Review: I've always been a voracious reader, of both non-fiction and fiction, high and low-brow. Dickens and James, Obrian and Forrester, John Irving and Elias Canetti, Edward Gorey and Theodore Geisel, Carl Hiassen and Dave Barry. HOLES is wonderful. Once my kids are done with final exams, they'll read it, too.
Rating: Summary: Defies Description! A Must Read for ALL Ages! Review: This is supposed to be a book for kids and young adults? I'm 42 years old and I loved it. It's tough to describe, so I won't even bother. If you are looking for a quick and wonderful summer read, this is it. Beware! Once you pick it up, you can't put it down. I was up past midnight last night finishing it, and I can't tell you the last time that happened! Bravo to Louis Sachar!
Rating: Summary: BEST BOOK EVER Review: I loved this book! The story was so amazing and I loved all the twists through out the book. I didn't really like the authors previous books but I loved this. I recomend reading this book before any other.
Rating: Summary: A good book for people who like out-of-the-ordinary books! Review: This book is great, and although the plot isn't too unusual, the setting and idea are very immaginative and creative. The flash backs add a nice touch. I really think Louis Sachar did an exelent job.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book: full of surprises Review: This is a great book and I would reccomend it to anyone. The way everything fits together in a surprise ending is wonderful. In general, it is a magnificent book and keeps your attention all the way through. You won't be able to put it down!! It was definatly better than what I expected.
