Summary: A fabulous Book for pretty much all ages- What a great book
Review: This book, following the exploits of Stanley Yelnats at the junior detention center of Camp Green Lake, is a most exceptional book in its own right. The story, with it's witty plot, and it's eccentric writing style, is not to be missed. The book can be read by people ages 9 to 199 years old, and it certainly should be. This book gets the highest certification of excellence by me, and I encourage everybody to read it.

Review: A new book, in a new style. Harry Potter is a extremly admierable charecter. It all comes together in the end, in a way that makes you smile It is amazing how when you read this book you are in a totaly different world.

Summary: An imaginative, rich and original book.
Review: I am a public librarian, and I read "Holes" because it is a Newbery Award winner and because Sachar has an excellent track record. "Holes" is a work of "magical realism" which intertwines fantasy and reality in a completely inventive way. Children will read it on one level and young adults will read the book on a higher level. A few of the many themes that "Holes" deals with are the pain of loss, the connection between generations, the resiliency of children and the power of love to help people overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The book is not for very young children, since there are frightening scenes of death and violence. I would recommend it for mature children ages 13 and up.

Review: This is a book for all types of people. They belive that if a boy does something bad Camp Green Lake can do something about it. They would make you dig holes 5ft by 5ft. This is a book packed with several adventur that will all link up. This is the best book in the world.

Review: it's like a puzzle.... stanley's life is full of bad luck. His life is connected to Camp Green Lake and to his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather and to the history of kate barlow and her miserable life. The ending means so much...... which is connected in the beginning. Louis Sachar's a great author.

Review: I was first very skeptical about this book, but from the first page, it drew me right into the story of how an children and young adults see the world. This is definitely a must for anyone!

Review: I'm an emotional support teacher, and plan to include this novel next year. My students are going to love the characters in the story. The nicknames were excellent. I especially enjoyed how the characters were able to work together in order to survive. It' survial of the fittest.P

Review: Holes is a great book. My mom bought it for me as a surprise. She said it sounded interesting. I started to read it and I thought it was really realyl strange. Then I could not stop reading it. It's and excellent book. Really funny when they have to eat the onions.
