Summary: this is the best book I have read in a long time
Review: I loved this book! There are so many connecting plots and characters and tiny clues to the past and present. There is humor and excitement and one of the most frightening villains I have ever seen. This book fully deserved the Newbery medal. I read it three times in two weeks, and each time it held up. I recommend this book for adults as well as children. The descriptions are so real it feels like you are there at Camp Greenlake digging holes. Great job Mr. Sachar!

Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. It always left you thinking about what would happen next. There were many different things going on at the same time, keeping you very interested in finishing the book. Once I started reading it, I could not stop. I had to read two Newbery books this summer and happened to pick this one because it was this year's winner of the award. This was the fastest I ever read a book!

Review: When my mom bought this book she said that some people LOVED it and that some people HATED it. So starting off I was a little skeptical, but I started and COULD NOT stop. I loved it SOOO much. I was up 'til 2:30 in the morning just to finish it. Then I was mad I had read it so fast because I wanted it to go on forever. I would have given this book a 5 but I cannot give it the same rating a the HARRY POTTER books by J.K. Rowling. Thanks a lot Louis. This book was incredibily imaginative and I loved that there was like two different plots that came together SO perfectly. I would recomend this book to ANYONE.

Review: This book is very well put together! Two Stories almost totally unrelated come together in the most interesting way. This book has the most wonderful ending of any book I've ever read. And that is a lot of books. I could read this book millions of times and never get board. This is a must for everyone!

Summary: "Holes" is on a list of must read books for my students.
Review: As a teacher I am constantly looking for new books for my fifth graders to read. This book came along on a Friday afternoon and I planned on reading it aloud to my class starting the following Monday. In my class, if I have not read the book previously, I never read ahead. However, I decided to "start" the book and only read a chapter or two. Four hours later and a series of cancelled plans, I finished it. I have not been so enthralled in a book since I first read "Maniac Magee." It is the endearing because of it's style, it's content and mostly because of the fact that it is constantly changing. Just when you think you have it figured out, Sachar switches focus. I have recommended this book to students and adults, and all have loved it. Just as a kicker, my fifth grade class chose to stay inside from recess for two weeks in order to finish the story faster. They fully enjoyed it, know you will also.

Review: I give "Holes" four stars because it gives you a sense of real life hardships and a fiction.The author also gave some suspense that made you want to keep reading. The book was a little childish, but it had a good plot. When you get into the book you will soon forget

Review: I thought that Holes was a wonderful book. The way he fits everything into the ending was masterful. The suspense is enough to keep any young reader entranced. I did not have that much fun however, the grade-school dialouge and chilidish plot bored me as I am sure it would mature young readers and adults. Holes is a good storytime book for 4th graders but lets keep it at that level.
