Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A very interesting book that kept making me to read on.
Review: It was a very exciting book that kept me thinking of what would happen next. Also I think the will power of Stanley to carry on when they ran away was pretty outstanding. I like the way the author let everything wrap around and form one story.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A good book but lacking action
Review: The book "Holes" is a compelling novel of a young man's adventures in a detentional correction center. It has the makings of a classic, but just lacks some more action in my opinion. It has many "coincidences" at the end of the book that make it a little fake. Otherwise a good book.

Summary: Good Book!
Review: Have you ever wanted to dig a hole big enough for you to get in? Well, if you did, then you should have Stanley Yelnat's luck. He is accused of stealing a famous basketball players shoes. After he is judged guilty, he is given a choice, either he can go to jail or he can go to "Camp Green Lake". Stanley decides that Camp Green Lake has to be better than jail. When he gets there he finds out he was wrong. Every day for a year a half, Stanley has to dig a 5ft wide and 5ft deep hole in "Green Lake" a desert that used to be the largest lake in Texas used to be. The Warden of the camp says that "Digging holes builds character". If Stanley or the other boys find anything unusual, they are to report to the counselor or the Warden immediately and they'll get the day off. As he digs , Stanley reflects on family history. He wonders if his great-grandfather felt like does when he was robbed of his lottery money and left stranded in the desert by the outlaw Kissin' Kate Barlow. One day Stanley finds something interesting, a lipstick container . Stanley is tricked into giving it to another boy, but not before he reads the initials on it, K.B. The initials of Kate Barlow! Could it be that the Warden is looking for something? Like, perhaps the treasure of Katherine Barlow? Find out in this great book!
