Rating: Summary: A great book for all ages! Review: This was a fine written book. When I first picked it up, I thought it would be boring because of the stupid name. Boy was I wrong! It's a real page turner! READ IT!
Rating: Summary: ? Review: I can't very good in English, I'm from Holland you know, but I must made a review for my teacher dutch, but thank you for this information. It's a wonderfull book and I hope that Louis Sachar will soon publiced more books of him in Holland.Regards, Lisette
Rating: Summary: An extraordinary book, yet believeable! Review: I think that HOLES by Louis Sachar is a great book. Unlike Harry Potter, it could really happen. You could really think that Stanley Yelnats is a real person, and that his story is true. The evilness of the warden and her rattle snake venom nailpolish is believeable. Louis Sachar puts some to what you would think are "just little details" in the beginning, but they highly affect the ending. I didn't really know how it was going to end, Louis Sachar could have ended it so many different ways. But the ending is exciting, and I think you will enjoy it. READ THIS BOOK, YOU'LL LOVE IT!
Rating: Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar Review: Holes is a great book and everyone should read it
Rating: Summary: captivating, why did the story have to end! Review: This is the best book we have read in a long time. Mr. Sachar does a wonderful job of using foreshadowing and name sybolism to help make the connections in this exciting book. Several of us have bought the book for our personal library. Will any book be as great as Holes? Thank you for an exciting adventure in reading.
Rating: Summary: Impossible to put down, full of the best twists and turns. Review: My children and I could not have enjoyed this book more. We were continually surprised at the intricate twists and turns of the story. All of the clues to the ending were provided if the reader was careful and paid attention to detail. This is one sensational book.
Rating: Summary: HARRY POTTER WAY BETTER Review: This book is weird.Whoever thinks it is better than Harry potter is a weirdo.J.K. RULES (no offense Louis)
Rating: Summary: EXTRA ORDINARY READ! Review: Talk about an out of the ordinary read! A boy digging holes? How original is that? Between Zero, Stanley, and the 100 year old curse, what could happen? It all begins when Stanley gets hit in the head with a pair of famous baseball player's shoes. Then all the fun begins. You ask, what fun? Well, like the crazy landlord, Mr. Sir, Armpit, and worst of all, Juvenile Detention Center. But Stanley is NOT staying in ANY jail for long! He teams up with his friend, Zero and escapes! Water is sacred at the camp, because it is in the desert . So when they escape, they realize they have no water, so they have to use onions as a resource! The reason why I read this story is easy. It is full of action, and the best thing of all is it doesn't bore you! All the characters have an attitude of their own. Their reputation is not always bad. In fact, most of them you might want to be friends with! I picked HOLES up and read it in less than a day! I strongly encourage you to read this book! It is one of a kind! p.s. So, what are you waiting for? Go out and find HOLES! Even if it takes juvenile jail, shortage of water....
Rating: Summary: WOW! We have yet to find a better story! Review: Everyday after lunch recess, my students would come in so quietly to listen to Holes which I read to them. Soon students asked if I could read the story INSTEAD of having a study hall. Several students bought the book. Some students came to school sick so not to miss what would happen next. The applauds went on and on and a request for a sequal.
