Rating: Summary: The story of Stanley Review: The book Hole that I have read, is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats, who lives with his family, but his father is an inventor of a cure for smelly feet. It all started when Stanley was walking home under the bridge when a pair of shoes came falling from the top of the bridge. The pair of shoes belong to a famous person named Clyde Livingston. He was accused of taking the shoes from a homeless shelter. During the court hearing, Stanlely was given two choices. Either go to camp Green Lake or go to jail. Then he chose to go to camp green lake, that's where he dug holes. They had to dig holes because they were trying to look for a treasure box that had important paper and other things that were important. A little boy named Zero, whose real name is Hector Zeroine finally told Stanley that he stole the pair of shoes. Then they became friends and helped each other out on everything. Stanley and Zero had found the treasure box and then a day later his laywer had came to come and get Stanley, they had found out that Stanley and Zero were in trouble and the lawyer end up taking Stanly and Zero. They got to take Zero and the treasure box because it had Stanley's name on it, but it really belong to Stanley's great grandfather. Then Camp Green Lake was turned into a girls camp.I would recommend people to read this book because it's a really interesting book. This book was different then all the other books because this one talks about how someone's life change and change someone's life.
Rating: Summary: There's no holes in this book Review: Have you ever been in the wrong place at the wrong time? Have you ever felt that you have "bad luck" or a "curse"? Well Stanley Yelnats has definitely felt this way, and is usually prosecuted for these horrible coincidences. When he is finally sent away to an odd, isolated disciplinary camp for boys, Stanley meets new and interesting people with issues of their own of why they were sent to this deserted area. This book introduces many unique characters that really bring many personalities in the book. X-ray, for example, is well-liked, intelligent and always tries to sneak around work, though isnt very successful. Completely opposite of him is Zero, a quiet, shy boy who always gets his work done and is to the point. I enjoyed what each of these characters brought to the book, since they were all so diverse and semi complicated. Stanley's family "curse" is supposedly caused by his great great great grandfather who stole a pig, but he can somehow relate this to the place he was condemnded, and even to some of his peers. This semi complex story raps itself up to fall into place quite nicely. Even the owner of this camp for troubled boys is linked to Stanley, but luckily, in the end, everyone gets what they deserved, good or bad. This book holds the perfect happy ending.
Rating: Summary: im feeling a bit HOLY! Review: If you're a person searching for a book that involves both adventure and pondering, Louis Sachars HOLES is the book for you! Stanley Yelnats was your typical teenage boy. Stanley runs into some unexpected trouble one day,and was blamed for stealing Clyde "sweetfeet" livingston's baseball sneakers that were for a charity. However, Stanley is no convict at all, and is actually completely innocent. Stanley finds himself in the midst of Camp Greenlake, a camp for juvinile delinquents. Digging holes is the punishment for the boys that attend Camp Greenlake, holes in search for something that the warden desperately wants. Zero, Stanleys closest friend he has made at camps makes an attempt to run away one day in the middle of hole digging, and Stanley chases after him, attempting to bring him back. Stanley and Zero find themselves at the top of a mountain on an old onion farm, and soon after decide to head back to camp. The boys find themselves with what the warden has been looking for in the end, a chest with Stanleys name on it that contains objects of much worth. The story constantly flip flops back and forth, telling stories of Stanleys great relatives and of past convicts from way back. All of these lives and tales intertwine with eachother to wrap the plot of HOLES into one, creating an intricate story that keeps you waiting in suspense. In the story HOLES there is never a dull moment, and is suitable for people of all ages. I strongly recommend this book for anyone, trust me, you'll enjoy it.

I liked it so much because it was well-written and funny. It all starts when young Stanley Yelnats is sent to a correctional facililty, Camp Green Lake. He is sent there to change is bad attitude. He meets many new friends and some enemy's. There are many good points to this book. I think all kids should read this book.
Rating: Summary: If you don't do the crime, you shouldn't have to do the time Review: Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. He's definitely unlucky and blames it all on his no- good- dirty- rotton- pig- stealing- great- great-grandfather. One day he is walking home from school, and out of no where a pair of shoes falls on his head. He thinks it's destiny, but he comes to find it is just more bad luck. The shoes belonged to a famous baseball player that were stolen from a homeless shelter. Stanley goes to court and is sent to camp Green Lake. Here he must dig holes to build character, or so they say. The real reason they dig holes is for me to know and for you to read the book.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: This book is about a boy, Stanley, who always seems to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Now he is convicted of stealing a famous basketball player's shoes from a charity. The judge ruled that his punishment would be 18 months at Camp Green Lake. Here he has to dig holes and look for something. Holes was a very interesting book to read. I think that the person who runs Camp Green Lake is very annoying. I think she is annoying because she always acts like a toddler. To me this book had many interesting twists and turns. I recommend this book to people who really like adventure and are not afraid of reptiles.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Holes is a great book for all ages! The plot is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who is sent to Camp Green lake(a prison camp for boys). Young boys are sent there because they either did something illegal or in Stanley's case he was unfairly put in the camp. The boys have a choice of going to Camp Green lake or to go to jail. Most of them choice the camp where they are supposedly learning how to be better kids. During the part in the story where Stanley goes to camp the reader will discover why the book is called Holes. Stanley has many adventures at Camp Green Lake involving the history of his family and his new friends. I would give this book a total of five stars.
Rating: Summary: A delight Review: Stanley Yelnats is a fat teenage boy who is teased constantly about the facrt that he is heavy. Unfortunately for him he is accused of stealing some shoes, which he believes is the bad luck caused by his great-great grandfather. At his trial the judge says that he either can go to a detention camp or jail. Stanley, not wanting to go to jail, goes to the camp where he and other boys dig holes all day in the hot desert sun. While there he befriends the boys who bunk with him and has dislike for the camp counselors and warden. I like that this book has a lot of adventure in it. From Stanley's travels through the desert and too close for comfort encounters with poisonous yellow-spotted lizards it really is an excellent read if one likes this type of book. I also like the way the author combines Stanley's story as well as the story about Stanley's "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather." The purpose I think the author wanted to show is that a person could have bad luck in everything yet eventually something good will come out of all the bad. The adventures that Stanley goes on and the combination of his story as well as the story of his great-great-grandfather in this book make this book delightful to read.
Rating: Summary: THE BOOK REVIEW Review: THE BOOK ABOUT HOLES. IT IS ABOUT KIDS DIGGING HOLES. I THINK THIS IS A GREAT BOOK. I THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD READ THE BOOK HOLES.
Rating: Summary: HOLES REVIEW Review: I had to read the book Holes in reading class. It was about a boy named Stanley Yelnats that didn't do a crime but they still blamed him for it.He had to go to Camp Green Lake and dig holes. If he he found things he had to take to the warden. If the warden liked it, she would give them the rest of the day off. Why I didn't like this book is because it wasn't my kind of book to read. But I think the movie was great.
