Rating: Summary: Holes Review: What would you do if you got bitten by a yellow spotted lizard! Holes is a great book. It is one of the best books I have ever read. Stanley risks his life to save his friend and runs away from camp. Jake gets caught but he goes home because they finally see that Stanley is innocent for stealing Clyde Livingston shoes.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Book! Worth digging a hole for! Review: 2 thumbs up, 10 toes, 1 knee and a couple of elbows for this outstanding book. Louis Sachar has written his best book yet! Although it is very unrealistic, it relates to some problems and emotional feelings that occur in life. With excellent to the point writing style, and a great plot, you wont be able to put this book down. READ THIS BOOK! READ THIS BOOK! READ THIS BOOK! READ THIS BOOK! READ THIS BOOK! READ THIS BOOK! Rating: Summary: Digging into Holes Review: It is like gold because it is fabulous, famous, and great to read. This book was harder to understand in the beginning because it kept going into flashbacks but in the end, the flashbacks made the story more interesting. As we were reading the book, we ran into many questions and that made the book so fascinating. It is similar to Harry Potter books because it was very suspenseful. This would be a good book to give to your cousin or a friend for a holiday--that's how much we recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Our Class Loved This Book Review: Our class loved "Holes". We visited Camp Green Lake each day in class, and enjoyed it. We now reading Harry Potter, and debating which one is better. This is a great book for all kids! (And Adults)
Rating: Summary: HOLES...A Book I REALLY DIG! Review: This was a really good book, very interesting, and i couldn't put it down! Wish it was availible on video...what other books would u reccomend if i loved this one?
Rating: Summary: You can't put it down! Review: Holes is really a great book! Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop! Some of the boys' nicknames are a little strange, though. Overall it's a GREAT book! You kind of feel sorry for Stanley when nothing goes his way, but then you end up cheering him on and hoping he'll make it! I give it 5 stars!
Rating: Summary: "A First Half Review for Holes" Review: I have only read one half of the book "Holes" but I have definately enjoyed it a lot. However I do not like the way in the middle of the first part that Sachar will talk about what Stanley is doing in the present snd then talks about the history of Green Lake. I love the way he is pretending to his mother that he is going to this rich man camp. I also like the way that they blame all negative things on his old great, great grandfather. I cannot wait to read the second half and I hope this review will persuade others to read "Holes." I got this book for Christmas and I started to read it right away because I got really good reviews from my mom.
Rating: Summary: The "HOLE" Story Review: I am a teacher of 3rd and 4th graders in the Mead School System in Spokane, WA. I began reading Holes aloud to my class during the first week of Jan. 2000. My class is absolutely mesmerized by this story, they simply cannot get enough. Sachar's insightful, humorous and touching story of Stanley Yelnats and Camp Green Lake has touched a literary chord in my class that I had never expected. Numerous children have bought the book themselves and are encouraging their parents to read it with them at home! A 5 star rating is not high enough for this story, it deserves even higher! Don't let anyone tell you that it's only appropriate for the "middle schooler" because I can testify that my students are enjoying this book more than any I've read aloud in the past 18 years! It's for people of ALL ages, I couldn't put it down myself!
Rating: Summary: You'll never stop reading ! Review: The book is named Holes because a boy had to go to boot camp and dig a hole everyday. I loved this book because it had very srong feelings and I just couldn't stop reading it! If you liked Wayside Scool is Falling Down books, then believe me you'll love this one.
Rating: Summary: An awsome book Review: Holes is one of the best books I ever read.I didn't like the ending because it was too short and it didn't say much either. I would recommend Holes to someone who likes adventure books.
