Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: I would recommend this wonderful book to everyone! The writing is phenomenal and very easy to follow, making it very compelling and making the reader want to read on. It draws in the reader and keeps them satisfied until the last word. Everyone who picks this book up will enjoy it and it is good for every group. I've never read a book that was quite so exciting. Some parts seemed a bit slow, but Sachar made up for it in multiple parts. I especially enjoyed when Sachar told old stories pertaining to Green Lake and how Stanley Yelnats related to them. It is a superb book that I would suggest to anyone.

Summary: The Great Book, "HOLES"
Review: This book is about a kid who gets sent off to a juvenile detention camp for something he did not even do. At this camp, Camp Green Lake, it is like a prison, but you can leave if you want to. It is in the desert, with no lake, and no green anywhere. The camp head mistress has one mission why she started the camp, to find the treasure. That's why everyday, everybody has to dig a hole, 5 feet deep, and 5 feet across. It is a great book, and you can never put it down! It's great for all ages!

Summary: I'm a high school senior, and I adored it!
Review: I work part time at the library after school. So when I saw that Louis Sacher had written a Newbery Award winning book I was absolutely delighted -- I've been reading his stuff -- heavens -- since I was tiny (starting with the Wayside School series) and it was almost a vindication to see him win this award.

Anyway, I picked this book up at work and started reading it. Instead of shelving my books like I was supposed to I have to admit, I read the entire book! (forgive me Indiana taxpayers...) It was engrossing and absolutely wonderful. I didn't feel "talked down to" at all. The style was refreshing after such cumbersome novels at The Fountainhead and Heart of Darkness that I've read in English class, but the themes of Holes were just as complex.

I recommend this book to anyone, no matter what the age.

Summary: Holes: review
Review: Holes is about a kid that gets caught for a crime he didn't commit. He has a choice of going to jail or Camp Green Lake. He decided on Camp Green Lake, but when he gets there it is only a desert where juveniles go to dig one hole every day that is five feet deep and five feet across in every direction. This camp leads him to a wonderful adventure and treasure! I'll leave the rest up to you to read.

Summary: I love it, my brother loves it, my friend loves it...
Review: Just as I said, this book is a great tale of humor, imagination, and can even be kind of suspencful at times. I loved it so much, that I started reading a chapter or so to my little brother every night. It got to the point where he was begging me to read it to him whenever I had time. My point is, it appeals to all audiences, and is definately something for everyone. Read it, and I can assure you that you won't be disapointed.

Summary: Holes
Review: I loved this book. It was probably the best book I have ever read. It is about a young boy who gets acused of doing a crime he didn't do. He gets to choose to go to jail or Camp Green Lake for 18 months. He chooses Camp Green Lake where he has to dig a large hole everyday. While he's at the camp he makes alot of new friends and goes through alot of adentures. When I was reading it I had to force myself to quit reading because I was really in to it. I think that it deserved its Newberry Metal. I would recommend it to anyone who loves adventure.

Summary: best book
Review: I Read the book Holes. It was very exciting and interesting. It has a lot of cliff-hangers and will keep you reading untill the end. It was about a boy going to camp. His parents thought it was a fun camp but when he got to the camp he thought it was a desert.Every one in the camp has to dig a hole 5 feet down and 5 feet across. The kids at the camp didn't know why they had to dig but if they didn't dig they wouldn't get any food. When you were digging if you ever founmd anything shiny you were supposed to report it right away. I thought this book was interesting and it has an exciting ending. i won't tell you so you can read the book and find out!
