Summary: :) HoLes ReViEw (:
Review: Imagine being blamed for something that you didn't do and having to learn a lesson- the hard way.

This book was extremely appealing to me. I thought it was hypnotizing in the way that you wanted to keep on reading. The book made you use your mind and you could think whatever you wanted to think was going to happen. It made you use your memory to keep in mind the flashbacks that occur throughout the story. Holes was filled with humor and will make you laugh out loud. The characters in the book are real. You will relate to them throughout the story.

Summary: HOLES
Review: This book was one of the best books i've read in a long time. It was so good my mom is reading it.This book really got me thinking. Everything went in a circle. Also, everything went in a circle. I recommend this book to kids over 10 years old. This book was a little strange for me, but it was worth it.

Summary: An Amazing and Wonderful Novel
Review: This book ranks among the best our family has ever read. It isfull of truth, beauty, wit, and joy; those wonders are framed by justenough menace and malice to make them stand out. I have added it to my list of essential works of children's literature, alongside Nesbit, MacDonald, and Eager (although Holes has much more of an edge)

Summary: Digging Their Graves: The Brilliance of *Holes*
Review: Stanley Yelnats' palindromic name gives away the complexity not only of the plot line but of the emotional pitch of this book. Stanley, wrongly accused, is sent to Camp Green Lake, which is neither a camp, green, nor a lake. It's a juvenile detention area located on some of the most hostile terrain imaginable, and, out in the hot sun, facing the double peril of rattlesnakes and deadly spotted lizards, the detainees are forced to dig holes; they dig holes (seemingly) for no reason. They dig holes five feet wide and five feet deep. Until we know what those pits are really for (and even after), the image of the 5' by 5' holes could not be more evocative: these children are digging child-sized graves. When Zero runs away and Stanley knows he just can't leave Zero out in the desert, the book becomes agonizing in its exploration of heroic acts and their possibly dreadful consequences. (Don't worry: it all works out and the book contains a fair bit of humor). I hesitated about letting my 9 year old read *Holes*. I thought the material was too strong -- he's a pretty sensitive reader. But I gave it to him, and he read it on his own, privately, as if he wanted it to be just his. When asked, he would say "I like it fine", in that 9 year old dead-pan tone. But many times I find it lying on his bed, or I find him re-reading parts; I don't know what the book means to him, but I know it means something important -- and that's just fine.

Summary: Holes is a Must-Read!
Review: Holes is a deeply compassionate story of a young boy, Stanley, who is wrongly convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Given the choice of jail or a year at Camp Green Lake, Stanley chose the camp. What he found at the camp was nothing he had ever imagined. This story tells of the history of Camp Green Lake as Stanley slowly learns the real reason for their digging. This book is incredibly unique and creative. It delves into the life of this young boy who is taken from his normal life and thrust into a new one.

Summary: You have to read this book
Review: Everyday in school after lunch and recess my teacher reads us abook and this happened to be the book I kept asking my teacher to readmore but she said she didn't have time. I fell in love with the book. At that time Harry Potter was my favorite book. Not any more I said good bye to harry and hello to holes. My facorite part of this book was when they were talking about kissing kate barlow and sam, and how they kissed so they had to aresst sam or kill him. It was also funny that the mayor said to kate you kissed him so kiss me and then later she came back put lip-stick on killed him and then kissed him and that is how she got her name kissing kate barlowe. this book is not about killing it is so good it is about people who have done somthing wrong go to camp green lake and dig holes but no one knows why they are digging holes that goes to the camp but then they find out and that is when the book starts to get really really good. So I think that everyone shoul read the book because it is so good and it is many people's favorite book so read it and make it yours.

Summary: Great for kids 6 to 100. Rivals Harry Potter!
Review: Well written book about Stanley Yelnats - a boy whose family has been cursed for generations by its ancestor who once "cheated" an old witch out of a pig. My 6-year-old daughter loved every moment (although I did edit out one portion) and so did I. It was exciting, intense, and very, very funny. If an adult book would emerge that was anywhere near as good as either Holes or Harry Potter, what a good reading season it would be. "Where is the second book of the series?" was my daughter's question within a moment of finishing the last page. We are buying more Louis Sachar.
