They loved this book.(As did I) The book has so many twists, and it is not until the very end that the author fills in the "holes". Every teacher needs this book to make their collection complete!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Spellbinding -- I read it in one sitting... Review: The fact this is written by a children's author doesn't mean it's no more than a children's book.Sachar's "Wayside School" stories are delightful. But this one is pure art. Think of Roald Dahl at his best -- "Danny" "Mathilda" "James" And Dahl's adult books, too. "Holes" may be designed for the "grade 5-9" set, but it's really a book for the ages...and for any age...

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: In the book Holes, Camp Green Lake, which there is no lake, is the worst place to be! Every day in the morning you dig one hole five feet deep and five feet across, but on rare cases if you find something interesting you may get the day off. Also, it gets to 120 degrees and when you are trying to dig a hole in the hot sun, it is hard. To top it off there is no rainfall and if you tried to escape, you would die of thirst before you made it. That's about all I can tell you, but trust me it is a good book! Oh just be careful about yellow-spotted lizards.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: holes Review: I thought that Holes by Louis Sacher was a great book. Sometimes it makes you want to keep on reading. It makes me want to have a drink because of all the digging thay do. Its kinda' wierd because sometimes the book will talk about the past and jump back to the present. I think you will enjoy this book, I did

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: In Love With This book Review: This is the best book I have ever read. I read it to my third grade class and they have never responded to a book in this way. My students were dry and thirsty, tired and broken as I read the book. This book came to our school book fair and all 19 of my children saved up money to buy thier own copy and that is amazing in itself!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Sachar weaves a spell-binding page turner Review: Cleverly tieing past to present, Sachar makes it easy to believe we can all overcome whatever demons we have in our past, whatever limitations have been imposed (self or otherwise) upon us, to find the proverbial treasure. Sachar's greatest talent as a writer is to make the unbelievable believable, to transcend the vulgarities of life in the most vulgar circumstances imaginable. In Stanley Yelnats, he has created a character at once pathetic and heroic; kind of an optimistic fatalist. Through a series of catastrophic events, Stanley eventually finds a physical treasure, yes, but also treasures of another sort that we all deeply yearn for: true catharsis, character and frienndship.
