Summary: Holes By Louis Sachar
Review: Holes is an excellant book that I would highly reccomend. It's about a young boy who is mistreated at school, and his family can bearly afford to pay rent. Stanley Yelnats is wrongly accused of stealing a pair of shoes owned by a famous basketball player that were being auctioned off to benefit a homeless shelter. His parents were unable to afford a lawyer; so, he went to court without one. His punishment, for being proven guilty, was "Camp Green Lake", a boot camp. After a while Stanley finally figures out how important true friendships really are, but does Stanley get out of Camp Green Lake alive? Can he figure out the mystery of Camp Green Lake? To find out, read this book.

Summary: So unlike what I read when I was a kid
Review: I liked this quite a bit better than The Giver, but I've been assured I missed some symbolism or something in that book. Holes is full of sidetracks, little stories that don't seem related, and the whole thing becomes a bit of a riddle. The good guys win, mostly, and history repeats itself in the most lovely way, and there's a lot of grownups being very, very mean, which is always fun to see.

Summary: Refuge on God's Thumb
Review: This is on of the best books because it always keeps you on the edge of your seat. For exmple when Stanley enters the warden's office I couldn't put it down. Also, the part were in which Stanley has to go down the mountain is very interesting. I enjoyed it so much my whole family read it. So in conclusion, anyone should read this book because you won't put it down.

Summary: "Wow"
Review: This book is a must read! I think it should take it's place with Huck Finn & Harry Potter in schools. The twists and "catch 22" will make even the kid who never finsh the book finish it. Also the use of short chapters make kids think there making great progress.

Wonderful Job Mr. Sachar!

Summary: Mom to Mom
Review: When my 5th grade daughter wouldn't stop bugging me about reading this book I decided to order it. I didn't have time to read it so I gave it to my 4th grade daughter to read. Well, for a whole summer I had both of the girls on my back about this goofy sounding book "holes". I broke down this week and read the whole thing. I have to admit, I really liked it. I wish we would have had a book like this when I was going to school in the 70's and 80's. Maybe then I would have read more. I think my girls and I will remember this book for a long time. You never quite look at a shovel or onion's the same way anymore! :)

Summary: Dig a Little Further
Review: Because it lacks action, the book Holes, by Louis Sachar is mediocre. The plot is very well hidden, but is hard to understand. For example the flashbacks lead to confusion of the plot. The story seemed like a run-on sentence. It went on and on and on. To understand some of the text. The reader needs to read it more than once. The beginning starts off slow and the end finished too quickly. Louis Sachar seems to get tired of writing this book. On the good side it is suspenceful. It is one of those books where it depends on the person who reads it.

Summary: The Thrilling Journey Through Holes
Review: The book Holes written by Louis Sachar was a very exciting book due to its suspenseful scences. One of the many exciting scences that happend was when Stanley escaped the terrible Camp Green Lake.During the hole scene, the reader could not predict if Stanley was going to live or die. Another thrilling scene was when Stanley carried Zero up God's thumb when Zero could not hold up his own. The reader was not able to figure out why they they thought they could find refuge on God's thumb. The best scence was when Stanley was trapped inside of one of the holes and was surrounded by deadly yellow lizards. This scene was the best because you did not know if the warden was going to kill Stanley or save him. Because of these exciting scenes, Holes was a very exciting book and has many suspenseful scenes and this book should be read by all teens and pre-teens.

Summary: Holes, a young teens book.
Review: Holes,by Louis Sacher, is a great book that should be read by young teens because of the main characters coming of age. For example, about half way through the book, Stan went after Zero even though he knew there was a chance he might not make it. Stan's realization that risking his life to save another is an example of great maturity. Also, when Zero told Stan that he was the one who stole the shoes and threw them off the highway. Zero knew that it might ruin their friendship, but he thought Stan should know the truth. This is a have-to-read book for young teens every where.

Summary: Holes
Review: Holes was a confusing book, but once you got the gist of it, it became very enjoyable. Louis Sachar blends two storylines together to make on incredible book.
