Summary: Holes Review
Review: I think the book was cool because Stantey helped Zero to read. I gave the book 4 stars because it kind of boring. The book was to long. The book was boring because it had three stories going at once. I still think you should read it because the ending is very nice.

Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar
Review: Holes is a wonderful book to read together with children.Stanley Yelnats IV (notice the two spellings), is introduced to you ina way that makes you feel sorry for him. The Yelmats' family has beenplagued with a curse. The curse is given to the family by MadameZeronie when Elya Yelmats fails to fullfil a promise. There is proofthat the family is cursed, because Stanley Yelnats I was robbed of thefamily fortune by Kissin Kate Barlow.Trout Walker an enemy of KissinKate spends his life looking for Stanley's treasure. Stanley's familyis poor. Stanley is found guilty of a crime he didn't commmit. Hechooses to attend a juivenile camp rather than jail, because he alwayswanted to go to a camp and his family was to poor to send him to one.The camp is nothering like it's name GREEN LAKE CAMP. The camp is avery dry area with no lake or green grass anywhere. Stanley's daysare spent the same everyday. The day is always sunny and dry.Stanley spends the digging 5'x5' holes. The warden requires the holesto be dug. Why? All the characters involved in Stanley's family, areonce again involved in Stanley Yelnats IV stay at Camp Green Lake. Ifinished the book in two day. Sachar kept my attention. The childrenin our school library wait for two weeks so that they may ckeck itout. I understand why. This book is a must read for young and old.Share the book with your child. You will enjoy it too.

It was about a boy named Stanley,Yelnats. When he is convicted of a crime he did not do he has a choice between jail or camp green lake.He choses camp green lake thinking it would be better than jail. But he was wrong it was worst than jail the warding would make them dig holes to find a tresure.

Summary: The best book ever!
Review: Everyone had been telling me to read the book Holes for a very long time, so I finally read it. My friends were right; it was really good. I think it has a really interesting plot with exciting events (which I won't name because it might give away something). I also like how the author put in small, short stories about the town's history, Kate Barlow, etc.

It starts out a little slow, but don't think the book is going to be bad based on the beginning. It gets much much better afterwards! I also think it is a good read because of all the surprises hidden inside.

Summary: Adult to Adults: Read It!
Review: "You really need to read this," said a colleague friend aware of my trials as a civil servant. "Really." Ordinarily, I don't look back to literature for younger readers given how many great adult books are out there to read before I die. This, however, is worth the brief time it takes to enjoy it. The quality of writing is excellent: a clean, swift economic style delivers vivid imagery. Plots and subplots are gracefully interwoven. The message about hope and redemption may be old as the hills but the execution is an original, absurdist vision of a cruel detention center for youths on a sun-scorched plain. Most of all, I liked our hero, Stanley Yelnats, he of the palindromic name, overweight, unpopular and too often set up to take the fall. He may be hapless but never self-pitying. He never looks back, he never loses the self, he never loses hope. You can overlook the plot coincidences, you can overlook the absurdity because it makes perfect sense in its own world.

Review: My 8th grade students are totally loving this book! It is one of the best novels I have read in a very long time. There are so many plots happening at the same time; one wonders how the author was able to bring them altogether so effortlessly. I am in awe, Mr. Sachar.

Summary: WOW; AMAZING
Review: Holes is an easy, exciting and fast read. I could not put it down. The scenic descriptions were terrific. My students also loved the book. One had commented that " I wish the book kept writing itself, so that it would be longer, when you put it down." Hey, I would not mind if this book was the never ending story, or maybe a little bit longer. While the brief chapters make this book perfect for a third grader, an adult would love this book for pleasure reading.
