Summary: Holes
Review: I am a fifth grader living in New York.I just finished reading the book called Holes. Holes is about a boy named Stanley that is convicted of a crime he did not commit. He goes to Camp Green Lake,a juvenial camp, because he thinks it is a better choice than jail. When he gets there, he is proven wrong. To turn into good boys, the bad boys have to dig holes that are five feet wide and five feet long.Stanley blames his conviction on his no-good-pig-stealing-great-grandfather, just like his family. The adventures keep rolling in, from the Warden's venom nails to buried treasure. I recommend this book to any kid or adult. I enjoyed it and I know you will too. Happy Reading!

Summary: Breaking the mold
Review: Unlike many children's books, Holes does not assume that the reader is too young to understand serious concerns and public issues. A complex story with parallels between the lives of the unlucky Stanley Yelnats, the wild Kissin' Kate Barlow, the Zeroni family, and a pair of very smelly shoes, Holes brings up issues that children can and do understand. Racism, greed, punishment, honesty, and corrupt authority are all big parts of the story. At it's base, however, it is a tale of friendship and of believing in one's self. Two thumbs up!

Summary: Get your students excited about reading again!
Review: I am currently a teacher at a middle school in Virginia. As many teachers today, I've had difficulty inspiring my students through reading. This book is the ticket! Not only are the students engaged in every word and every scene, but they are actively predicting events, making inferences, and generally "connecting the dots". Sachar has a gift for weaving a developmentally interesting story for middle schoolers by using their language and their culture. It's as if he is IN the mind of the these kids. I highly recommend this book to any student, teacher, parent, resource group, therapist, and/or specialist. High praise and applause to Louis Sachar! I anxiously await his next novel.

Summary: Holes is amazing
Review: I thought Holes was a very good book. I enjoyed it very much, because it was very realistic. The problem of them thinking that Stanley stole the shoes could actually happen to anyone. I reconmend this book to anyone who likes to read about realistic situations.

Summary: Holes Review
Review: The Book holes is one of my favorite books. I like that book because it is very interesting in how the book was written. It is very interesting by how it keeps you in suspence so you want to keep reading to see what happens. The story is mostly about a boy named Sanley that is convicted of a crime that he didn't do. When he gets sent to a camp he meets a boy named Zero thatbecomes his friend and becomes a big part of the book. My favorite part in the the book si in the middle to the end. It is because because it is the most interesting part of the book.

Summary: Holes
Review: Holes is an excellent book by Louis Sachar and we give it four stars. Holes is a book about a boy (Stanley) that got sent to a detention camp for a crime he didn't commit. His friend Zero(Hector Zeroni) ran away, soon Stanley runs away too. Stanley finds Zero, they work together to survive. Stanley tells Zero to come back to camp(camp Green Lake the Detention camp). And Stanley hatches a plan to tell the warden that they will find Kate Barlow's(a famous criminal) jewels. Before they tell the warden they find the treasure which belongs to Stanley's great great grandfather. Read this book to find out what happens to Stanley and Hector! We recommend this book to any one who likes sub-plots and lessons in life, this book teaches while bringing a fabulous adventure.
