Summary: Holes
Review: Holes, by Louis Sachar is about Stanley Yelnats and the events that occur while he was at Camp Green Lake. It all started when Stanley was accused of stealing a pair of sneakers. At the trial, he was found guilty, even though he really was innocent. So, he was sent to Camp Green Lake, a desert where the only water source available is a hundred miles away in the mountains. There, he dug holes all day. The Warden, the person in charge, told the boys that it would help them build character when actually, she made the boys dig to help her find a treasure. Stanley made a few friends at the camp including Zero, whose real name is Hector Zeroni. Zero has this nickname because he doesn't respond to anybody or anything. Even though everybody thinks that Zero is nobody, Zero and Stanley become great friends and eventually save each other's lives. Then, Stanley taught Zero how to read, and in turn, Zero dug half of Stanley's hole. One day, the Warden caught Zero digging Stanley's hole, and got mad. She threatened to punish him so Zero ran away into the barren desert where he was sure not to survive without food or water. After suffering the pain of digging day after day, Stanley found a golden glass tube. He gave it to X-Ray, one of his friends, because he felt that he owed him a favor. This led to even more trouble misdirecting everyone to the treasure. A few days later, Stanley ran away to go and try to find Zero. After walking for long hours, he finally found Zero hiding from the heat under an old boat sitting in the middle of the desert. They together went towards the mountains where they could find water and hopefully food. After struggling long hours under the boiling sun, they reached the mountain to find a surprise waiting at the mountains and also back at camp. I would recommend this book because it is very enjoyable to read. It's adventurous and funny content make it very creative and interesting. I think that Holes is written for all ages, but especially for teenagers' ages ten to fourteen, although anybody can enjoy it. Louis Sachar is a very talented children's author.

Summary: old leather burns
Review: I think Holes is fiction because some of the things could not happen. I can't see why any one would want to be bitten by rattlesnakes or scorpions. Holes is very good because it is funny. This book is funny because the main character was digging holes, which does not usually happen. I recammend this book to 3rd grade and up.

All the mysteries and secrets in the book fit together SO WELL, you will just not believe what you read. My teacher just recently read it to our class, and everyone listened with rapt attention. There wasn't a dull moment in this book. You can't just put this book down without a real reason to. If you only read one book in your whole life, you should read HOLES!!!

Summary: Holes Review
Review: Holes is a humorous, interesting, and creative book. Louis Sacher really out did himself with this novel. His characters are creative. Stanley Yelnats is a boy who has lots of troubles. His family is poor and people make fun of him because he is fat. Stanley has no friends at school for this reason. One day Stanley is accused of a crime he did not do. Stanley had a choice of going to Camp Green Lake or jail. Stanley soon finds out Camp Green Lake is nothing but a desolate wasteland where you have to wake up before dawn to dig holes five feet wide and five feet deep. He finds out that the Warden is not making them dig holes for character but she wants to find something. The Warden is a crafty woman who paints her nails with rattle snake venom. Stanley has to deal with the boys from group D and finds friendship he has never had.

I have learned that if you try and never give up you will succeed. This book taught me about the power of friendship and trust. As I read this book it made me feel excited. I recommend this book to children and adults of all ages.

Summary: My Review on Holes
Review: I liked Holes because there are alot of mini stories in this book. I thought the characters were very interesting. There were times when I laughed and times when I got upset. The author created a barren wasteland and turned it into a place of adventure. Out of all the books I read this was one of my favorites. I read ten chapters when I was supposed to read only five. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to take a journey.
