Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: AWESOME! Review: I am a fourth grade teacher at a small school. My students are generally lower level readers. I had read this book about a year ago, and thought that they might enjoy it. I couldn't believe how quickly they got into it. It is the one time of day when I don't have to worry about anything interrupting the students concentration. They are completely enraptured with the characters and the plot. My students are now doing an author study on Sachar. I highly recommend this book to students, and adults alike.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Holes is the best book I ever read Review: Holes is the best book I have ever read. It is about a young boy named Stanley Yelnats who supposedly stole Clyde Livington's shoes. The setting takes place in Texas at Camp Green Lake. The main characters are Stanley, Zero,Warden, Magnet, and Armpit who are all in Camp Green Lake. Each day the boys had to dig holes 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide. Zero tells Stanley, "The thing everyone dreams of is to dig a nice big hole but after the 3rd hole here the fun is taken out of it." You might think a book about a camp would be boring but in Holes Louis Sachar changes each chapter. Sachar keeps on adding new characters. It makes the book more interesting. I would recommend this book for grades 4-5 because there are some challenging words. Sixth graders might find the plot a little bit below them. This is a book worth reading, especially if you love to solve puzzles.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: i liked the book Review: I thought that the book was very good. I read it over the summer and couldn't put it down. I was so surprised at the ending. It was a good book and wish there was a sequel.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: Have you ever been to an exciting camp where you swam, played games, and sang songs? Stanley Yelnats, the main character in HOLES by Louis Sachar, goes to camp Greenlake. Yet, camp Greenlake is not a fun camp. In fact it is the exact opposite because it is a camp for juvenile delinquents. The weather at camp Greenlake is brutally hot. In the shade it is 100 degree's, if you can find shade. The only shade at camp Greenlake belong's to the Warden underneath two oak trees, next to a little house with a hammock. This novel takes place in a dried up lake. Many people that go to camp relax and have fun, but the punishment for the boy's at camp Greenlake is work, hard work.Every day the boy's had to dig a hole five feet deep, and five feet wide. Greed is what causes some of the boys to attend camp Greenlake, where they have to dig holes day in and day out. Why would the Warden want the boys to dig holes? What does she want to find? The reader discovers that greed also infectes the Warden too. I hope you go out and purchase HOLES by Louis Sachar. It is an amazing novel because it is filled with mystery, and ther was not a moment when I wanted to put it down. I especially enjoyed the surprise ending. If you do purchase this novel you will not regret it. I hope you enjoy Holes as much as I did.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: I think this book was awesome. It was my favorite book of all time. I think anyone who likes mystery, adventure, comedy, or pretty much anything should read this book. It is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who constantly has bad luck and is caught with a famous baseball players shoes! Although Stanley is completely innocent he is sent away to Camp Green Lake in Texas. It sounds great, right? Well, think again! There he has to dig one hole a day that is five feet high and five feet long. While he's doing the brutal work he meets some friends with the nicknames Zig-Zag, Zero, X-ray, etc. The reason Stanley digs theese holes is to, "Build self-esteem." After a little while Zero runs away and Stanley goes after him. In conclusion, I think Holes is an excellent book.
