Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: Holes is one of the best books I have ever read and I have very specific tastes in books. The book is a non-stop thriller that will keep you reading. I couldn't put this book down. The book is mostly about a young boy named Stanley Yelnats who was sent to a camp for juvenile criminals. He was wrongly accused of stealing shoes. There are many interesting characters, some friends, some enemies. The story also has many flash back chapters. Stanley goes through many changes both physical and mental. I recommend this book for ages 12 and up due to the complexity of the story.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: This book is very long and superstitious. stanley has good luck and bad luck trought the book. The book has a bit of bening in the wrong place at the wrong time. this is a widely known superstion. Holes is a wonderful book written by Louis Sachar. it influences teamwork and trust.thought the book deals with superstition and luck, it still upholeds a level of reality. this ficion novel is very clever. it is obveous Sachar spent a long time writting it.it is no wonder it won the NewBerry Medal.

Stanley Yelnats (Stanley is Yelnats backwards)is a good kid convicted wrongly of theft. He is faced with a choice of jail, or staying at Camp Green Lake. He chooses the camp, but it is not what he expected. Camp Green Lake isn't that green, and there isnt much of a lake at all. The people he meets there might be stranger though. Mr. Pen-dance-key, Mr.Sir, and the Warden all all weird. GREAT BOOK.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: a good, ironic book Review: very good book with many ironic frazes. it is about a pour boy who is sent to a juvinil corectment camp were you have to dig a hole a day and were his life is changed around (and not from a bad boy to a good boy)
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: THis is a great Book!!!! Review: The book Holes, written by Louis Sachar, is a strange yet interesting book that tells about a teenage boy who is forced to dig 1 hole a day at a juvenile detention center for boys. He was sent here for a crime he didn't commit. There were many things I liked and disliked about this book. One of the things I disliked was the ending. It seemed to end to abruptly and it seemed unfinished. Yet there were many things I liked alot about the book. The author creates a way for the reader to feel like all of this is happening to them. The feeling of confusion and fear really helped the reader to understand the actions and feelings of the characters. I would definatly read this book again.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: Holes was overall a good book but there were some things I disliked. I liked the way every thing fell into at the end of the story, such as where they found the lipstick container is where the treasure was buried. I did'nt like the way the author would go into talking about the history of Camp Green Lake in the middle of a chapter. This story teaches people not to judge people by their first appearance.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar Review: I think that Holes was very well written because it held my interest throughout the whole book and was somewhat realistic. I liked it because it was extremely interesting reading about about an outlaw, figuring out why the warden wanted the lipstick case with Kissin' Kate Barlow's initials on it, and finding out how it was relarted to Camp Green Lake. The book Holes was very interesting and I learned different things from Stanley's experiences and I could relate to many things that were happening. I learned that not everything in life that needs to be done can be easy and that history plays a major role in present-day life. While I did not dig any holes at camp, I know that it can be very busy and tiring.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: Have you ever been at the wrong place at the wrong time? Well that's what happened to Stanley Yelnats, the main character of the book Holes. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time and his punishment was to go to Camp Green Lake. Camp Green Lake is not a glorious camp. It's not a happy place either. Stanley had a choice to go to jail or Camp Green Lake. He choose Camp Green Lake because he thought it would be a camp where you could swim, play games and sing songs but he was extremely wrong. All they do there is dig holes. Their regular day is staying outside until their holes are 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide. They get only a few water breaks during the whole day. No one knows why they have to dig holes. The Warden says, "It builds character". Is that indeed why they have to dig holes? Read this book to find out why they really have to dig holes.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review: Holes is a book for many age groups. As you read, you travel back in time and go into the present. Stanley is a middle school student who was accused of stealing shoes. Would you pick jail over camp? Neither does Stanley! It's not the kind of camp that most kids would think of though. It's a place where juveniles go to dig holes so they supposedly "build their character." But is that the real reason? Will Stanley and the campers stand the torture of digging hole after hole in the bright sun? Read and find out the devilish ways of the warden. Take the time out of your busy schedule and read the thrilling book "Holes". You won't regret it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A fantastic book! Review: This is a great boy-friendly adventure story. Full of great characters with nicknames like Caveman, Armpit, and Zero, this book explodes the bad boy myth, displaying these boys in a juvie facility as real kids. Full of magical-realism with many stories going on at once, Holes teaches social tolerance without heavy-handed morals
