Summary: A Hole In My Report
Review: It started out as being just a project for school, but after reading just one chapter I was hooked. This book can not be put down. Having two storylines keeps your nose in the book. I would definitely recommend it to anyone 10 and over. If you want a book to read pick "Holes".

Summary: A bit different, but good!
Review: I had read several other Louis Sachar books a few years ago, and always enjoyed them because of how funny they were. This book however was not quite as humerous, but still really good. It was quite different from any books I've read. I really enjoyed it though. I especially love the way that the ending somes everything up, and connects with the things you learned in the beginning of the book. If you are a young teen, you will get a kick out of this book!

Summary: Timeless Masterpiece
Review: I am a teen boy who has read "Holes" three times. I'm about to start on my fourth. It's just the greatest book of all time. There's no other way of putting it. Rich irony, meaningful drama, interconnecting storylines, superb writing...it's all here. The first time I read it, I didn't get the ending. Then, it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I was nearly moved to tears, and I will never forget that moment for as long as I live. I'd never been moved that deeply by a book, and I doubt that I ever will again.

Summary: excellently told!
Review: This book is a great read, it is hard to find new books that interest me because most of the new authors or new books by old authors are just no good aymore so when this book was reccomended to me i was not to happy on reading it but when a friend of mine finally put it in my hands i opened it and couldnt stop. This book is very suspensful and AMAZINGLY WRITTEN. This book jumps from the main stories to little stories of the past which beautifuly come together in the end to one very big and enjoyable story, i definetly reccomend this book to anybody teen to adult!!

Summary: hooks high schoolers on reading
Review: As high school teachers searching to update our English curriculum, my colleagues and I decided to add Holes to our 11th grade reading list. We taught this book to over 100 students this year and it was overwhelmingly successful. Non-readers were hooked on the book from the first chapter. Even more amazingly, they loved to talk about it, read ahead, asked for a test on the book, and were more interested in reading other books we passed their way. Although the book features a middle school boy, our high school students were enthralled with this story of injustice, friendship, and family legacies. So were we. I highly recommend the book to readers and non-readers of any age.

Summary: stay still and you won't get bitten
Review: This truly is the best book I have ever read. It was a detailed story about a boy dealing with the curse of his family. The author wrote things to make you think one way when it was really something else. That made it exciting to read. Also, there was the mystery of Stanley's friend Zero whose mother disappeared. Unfortunately, this is never resolved.

Summary: Holes
Review: I can't exactly decribe Holes by Louis Sachar in words. I started reading the book because I had nothing else to do, and frankly the only reason I kept reading to see what happened to Stanley. Then the plot got better and better, and when they introduced Zero I couldn't put the book down. When I got to the end, I was just in awe. Totally amazed. It had a cool twist in it that made you smile with a smile that seemed too big for your face. When you finished the book it made you want to read it over...but in a way you don't to because you don't want to ruin the book by over reading it. In a way this book kind of opened my eyes. I don't really know how or why--I just know. Once you read the book you'll know what I mean. And just as a little ironic after thought, think about this: In the book Stanley repeatedly thinks that what happened to him was destiny. Well, as soon as I finished this book, I opened a little book my aunt gave me and turned to a page I made when I was bored of a list of things I love. I added one thing-Holes. I closed the book still smiling and guess what word I read on the front cover--destiny.
