Rating: Summary: I really enjoyed this book, very interesting... Review: This book has a very thought-out plot, but then again what do you expect from such a cool author as Louis Sachar? But make sure that you are mature enough for this, because, well, lets just say that it contains a little of everything.Overall, this is a highly-reccomended book, so quit wasting your time and go buy one... NOW!!!!
Rating: Summary: An exceptional book. Review: This is, most likely, one of my favourite books of all time. It's the kind of book that you sit down to read... and you don't get up again until you're finished a few hours later, and your legs have fallen asleep and your eyes hurt but it really is worth it. Holes is basically about Stanley Yelnats, who goes to Camp Greenlake, a juvenile correction facility (or whatever you call them) because he supposedly stole a pair of incredibly valuable sneakers. At Camp Greenlake, where there is no lake, they are made to dig holes, five feet wide and five feet deep, every day out where the lake used to be to "build character." But after a while it becomes apparent that they're not just digging to build character, but because the Warden's looking for something... But besides the main plot, there are so many sort of sub-plots that seem to be going on, and every single little detail that you kept thinking was so pointless really does matter, and all these details and plot threads tie in at the end in such a creative way that you just want to jump up and scream "Yes!" before reading the book again. And again. And again... So overall, Holes is one of those books with something interesting going on in every sentence. It's the kind of book that is so exceptionally awesome you feel all tingly inside. If you've borrowed it to read, you go and buy a copy. It's that good. Now go read it. You'll be glad you did.

Holes is about a yong boy named Stanley who was committed of a crime and now set of to camp green lake. When he gets there he finds not a lake, but a dried up waste land. Every day Stanley has to go out into the deserted lake and dig a hole 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide all around to build 'character'. But what Stanley finds out is that he is not digging the holes to bulid 'character' but that the conclesor is looking for something.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: I liked this book a whole lot. It was very interesting the way the author made the plot. It was interesting how all of the juvenile kids let each other fit in. They were not actually the mean people most everybody makes them out to be. They were nice to every kid and did not discriminate each other. It was my favorite part when Stanley and the other kid ran away aand they lived off of wild onions they found at God's thumb. I liked this book very much and thought it was exellent book to have read.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: In this fiction book by Louis Sachar a young boy, Stanley Yelnats, is sent to a prison camp for something he didn't even do. Camp Green Lake is a dried up lake that was once a busy city until the lake dried up. At this camp the juveneils are given a shovel to dig a hole 5 ft. deep and 5 ft. wide. Staneley realizes he is not just digging for punishment. Staneley is determined to find out whats really going on. If I rated this book like I rate movies it would get five stars. Louis Sachar wrote this book so well that I could picture every scene perfectly. This book is number one on my list.
Rating: Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar Review: I purchased this book as required reading for my son. I always try to read what he does so we can discuss it and it's characters. (Besides I love to read) I was pleasantly suprised when I read Holes...it had interesting characters, and I enjoyed the way the story developed. I found myself enjoying the story and wished there was a continuing adventure for Stanley Yelnats. I am quite sure that he would manage to find an adventure no matter what he did.
Rating: Summary: A perfect read-aloud for students Review: I have read this book aloud to my fifth grade students for three years. They love it every year, enjoying the adventure, mystery, and humor as Stanley endures Camp Green Lake. This year, I have students that have read it previously, but are begging me to read it again anyway! The descriptions are vivid yet simply described, so that my English Language Learners can fully imagine the tale as it unfolds. The story also lends itself to provoking discussions about becoming a stronger person and using the lifeskills of friendship and perseverance.
Rating: Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar Review: I think Holes is a great book. It is about a boy named Stanley who is accused of stealing shoes from an orphanage. The shoes belonged to Clyde Livingston who is a great baseball player. He is put on trial and is accused and given a choice between Camp Green Lake and jail. He chooses Camp Green Lake. At Camp Green Lake they have to dig holes. Stanley knows something fishy is going on. To find out about the book, you're going to have to read it!
Rating: Summary: Great for all family members. Review: We enjoyed this book very much. The whole family really got into it quite by accident. I had been having my 9 year old read it out loud to me and the rest of the family overhearing it got hooked on it too! We ended up reading it out loud together to the very end.
