Rating: Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar Review: ...We really enjoyed this book. It is the story of a young boy, Stanley Yelnats. Stanley is Camp Green Lake for allegedly stealing a pair of shoes from a homeless shelter. The camp is a reform camp for boys who have run into trouble with the law. Here, Stanley learns a lot about himself and the importance of friendships. He also learns the importance of integrity and honesty. This book would a great resource to use in a classroom or even at home with your own children. Stanley is a normal kid who makes the most of his unfortunate situation. Holes is a great way to teach these lessons to your own children and students in your classroom.
Rating: Summary: Five feet wide, Five feet Deep, and Five Stars all around. Review: HOLES is one of those books were humor, writing, and emotion all mix together. Shoes, shovels, pigs, and even onions all provide clues for the filling and collected ending. Worth any price.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: The book Holes will make you feel good inside. It is a story about good and evil. It teaches us about right and wrong. Every day for 18 months Stanley has to go through hard work and diffecult decisions like giving things he finds to other people. Stanley's adventure will bring you right into the holes with him and make you feel like you are digging with him. I think Holes is a better book then Harry Potter. I think its better because you have to read all 4 Harry Potter books to know what you're reading about. Staley's last name is Yelnats, but if you spell it back words it spells Stanley. I like the book hole because it is an easy book to read. The book is also funny and exciting because of the characters names and attitudes. Thank you for reading my review.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Camp Green lake wasn't what Stanely Yelnats thought it would be when he stepped off the bus. In fact, Camo Green Lake was one of the toughest obstacles he would have to overcome. "You want to run away?" Mr. Sir asked Stanley. Louis Sachar's book "Holes" keeps you wondering what will happen next, as you fill in the puzzle pieces of Sanley's past. Sachar brillantly combines present situaions with flashbacks to keep the reader engrossed. At Camp Green Lake Stanely meets up with Zero, a camper who connects Stanley's past and his present. Every day, in the blistering heat, Stanley and Zero have to dig a hole in the dry bed of Camp Green lake that is five feet deep and five feet wide. Stanley feels sorry for Zero because everyone picks on him. Sacher brings these two characters together by setting up a way for them to bond: Stanley teaches Zero to read and write, and Zero digs part of Stanley's hole. At first it was just a trade off. But Sacher is able to make Zero the key to Stanley's mystery "Holes" sucks you in and won't let you out. It's almost like you're digging a hole with Stanley and filling in the puzzle pieces with him. Every chapter ends with a cliffhanger, making you want to read more. Sacher's characters are so real that you feel like you know them. You develop an attachment to the characters becasue you understand them so well. Sachar descibes the characters' history, feelings, and the way they act in a way that is belivable. "Holes" is the work of a master storyteller.
Rating: Summary: HOLES Review: Imagine yourself in the dessert digging holes every day... The biggest lake in Texas is dried up and they have bad boys digging holes under the hot sun. One of those teens is Stanley Yelnats. Stanly is supposed to be a big criminal at Camp Green Lake. Stanley is a good boy but no one belives him that he did not do the crime. He goes to court and that's when everything begins. Holes is action packed; from Stanley digging holes to helping Zero learn to read and write. The autor Louis Sachar, is excellent at desribing what's happening in the book. When Stanley first goes to Camp Green Lake he has no friends. However, later he gets to know all the kids and then they become his friends. I liked this book because Sacahr was writitng unbelievable paragraphs that you could not stop reading. He wrote the book in a way where people want to keep seeing what happens next. This book is for middle school students and maybe some high school kids, and I think that a guy or girl can read it who like adventure and mystery.

You also had to dig holes 5 feet long. You would have to wake up at 4:oo am in order to beat the hard part of the day. How would you feel? Would you be sorry for yourself? Rating: Summary: Hole Land Review: This book tells the story of stanley Yentas going to camp Green Lake. This book is a powerful look at going to juvenile camp when when you are innocent. Stanley never knew that the next eighteen months of hard work would also be dangerous. Imagine a story about yellow spotted lizards and wild snakes and scorpions. Stanley doesn't feel too good around snakes and scorpions and killer lizards. They had to watch for scorpions and killer lizards that would cause a slow painful death. When was the last time a book made you afraid? Stanley Yelnats III was from a poor family and over weight. Stanley's father was also named Stanley who is an inventor. Mr. Pendanski was a counselor at D tent, bald and younger than Mr. Sir. The warden is a tall woman with red hair and finger nails painted dark red. Kate Barlow was a school teacher full of knowledge. Hector Zero's nickname is Zero whom Stanley taught to read at camp. Mr. Sir is a mean guard who would not give much water when they were in the head digging holes. Stanley in his mind could hear his fathers voice softly singing to him this song. The song was sweet and sad, but Stanley's favorite part was when his father would howl the word moon. If only,if only. The woodpecker sights . The bark on the tree was just a little softer. While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonley. He cries to the moo-oo-oon, if only, if only". This was a song his father used to sing him . Stanley's great-great-grandfather had stolen a pig from a one legged Gypsy who put a curse on him. Stanley's parents blammed anything that went wrong on the great-graet-granfather's bad luck. Stanley looked out the window on the bus, " welcome to camp Green lake". Stanley was innocent of the crime that he was convited. Clyde " sweet feet" Livingston stolen sneaker's was going to be sold and the money was to be used for the homeless. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I thought this was a good scary book to read. It shows you how easy that you can be convicted of a crime and go to camp for boys. It also makes you stop and think. I would recommend this book for 5th grade. I enjoyed this book.
