Rating: Summary: A Hole in the Ground is okay but a Hole in my Bagel is Worse Review: Holes is a fantastic book. Satnley is under a curse because of his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather. A pair of shoes fall from the sky and Stanley picks them up. The shoes were Clyde Livingston's shoes. He was not innocent and had to go to jail or Camp Green Lake.He built good character by learning what he did wrong. This book was very funny, clever, interesting, and exciting. A lot of symbols were used to represent objects like nicknames. I didn't like the book because there wasn't much said after the kids left camp.Other than that the book was great.
Rating: Summary: Holes is good, but donut holes are better! Review: I thought Holes was a pretty good all around book.I'm a movie guy,but sometimes it makes you want to read more because you don't know what is going to happen next. The author of Holes, Louis Sachar, made Holes suspenseful and confusing at sometimes because he will switch from one scene to the next quickly. As you're reading, you know a bunch of things that won't come together until the end.I would suggest Holes for readers of all ages.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book of All Time Review: From the first word to the last, i found myself unable to put down Holes. I read the whole thing in one night! Knowing myself, thats pretty fast. I recomend this book to anyone who knows how to read.
Rating: Summary: Holes, by Louis Sachar (December 15, 2001) Review: I chose to read this book because, when I was little, I always tried to dig a hole to China. I thought this book would bring back some of the fun memories because the title of the book is "Holes". I thought this book would be about kids fulfilling a dream of digging a hole to China. After reading this story, I felt that it was weird in an interesting kind of way. I thought the book was kind of what I expected and kind of not what I expected. The part that I expected was that children were digging holes. The part that I didn't expect was that it was a boys' detention camp to build character. I don't feel the same about the book because it isn't about kids digging a hole to China and it is much different than I expected. I liked the book because it was interesting and you got the feeling that you needed to keep on reading it because it was so thrilling. I felt this way because in one part Stanley escapes from the camp and doesn't know where to go, and you think he might die because he can't find any water for a long time. I disliked the book because it was sort of starnge. The boys had to dig holes for their punishment, but the holes weren't used for anything else. I liked this book more than I disliked it. I recommend reading it as long as you understand that it is sort of different. I recommend this book for ages ten to twelve. I give my book a **** rating. A thrilling page-turner! Gaby Waldron
Rating: Summary: A Definite Winner! Review: Stanley Yelnats is sentenced to a juvenile detention camp for boys for a crime he didn't commit. Since he has never gone away to camp, Camp Greenlake seemed like a much better option than jail. It wasn't until he arrived that he learned Camp Greenlake was just the opposite of green and there wasn't anything close to a lake here. Stanley also learned there was more to Camp Greenlake than most people knew, except for the warden, Mr. Sir. Holes is a wonderful story on the trials of Stanley, an unlucky boy who is learning that not all things in life are fair, but there is always a bright light at the end. During his days at Camp Greenlake, Stanley becomes friends with the most oddest of characters and in the end realizes that he may not be so unlucky afterall. This strange story has a strong plot that twists and turns its way to the end with a suspensful conclusion. It will draw even the most hesitant of readers into its trance and transport them to the dry, flat, hot surroundings of Camp Greenlake. Winning the 1999 Newberry Award, it really is a wonderful example of excellence in literature.

Rating: Summary: Holes Review: I liked the book Holes. It was very interesting and fun to read. I like suspence stories and this was one. I would recommend this bool for other people. There are many things at the end of the book that I would like to know, but it doesn't tell anything. Holes is a story about friendship and how people can do things they never thought they could.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Holes was a good book because it was well writen and was interesting but could have been more interesting. This book has a lot of fate in it. Holes was easy to follow along with what the author was saying. It also showed you that somethings happen for a reason.
