The first Stanely was robbed by Kiss'n Kate Barlow. There are many obstacles that Stanely had to overcome. The worst obstacles were lacking water, Camp Green Lake, and Mr. Sir. The first obstacle was lacking water. He didn't have water for three days. The second obstacles was Camp Green Lake. He had a hard time getting somewhere else that had water. The last obstacle was Mr. Sir. Mr. sir. was mean and cruel to all of them. These were just some of the obsticles he had to overcome. I think this is a great book that anybody would enjoy. Stanley got sent to a camp for something he didn't do. He arrives at camp and meets the warden and learns the rules. Stanely has to dig ,and they don't know what he has to dig. Stanley and a kid named Zero run away Stanley had many conflicts in this story. Three of the biggest conflicts were the Warden,Mr.Sir, and the sunflower seed bag. The first conflict is the Warden not doing anything about the lizards. She didn't care if they died because she wanted what was in the suitcase. The second biggest conflict was Mr. Sir not giving him water. The reason that he didn't give Stanley water was of what the warden did. The third and last opposing force was the sunflower seed bag. Magnet stole them and he got caught with them. I think you should read this if you like adventures. Holes is exciting in many different ways!!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Stanley's curse. BY:Danielle and Heather. Review: This book is very exciting. This book starts out very intense with a young boy getting sent to a boy's camp for stealing a baseball star's shoes. At this camp Stanley has to dig one hole everyday. As the story goes on it keeps going back into the past talking about how a gypsy put a curse on a town. Onion Sam, a black man ,falls in love with a white women named Kathrine. This caused many conflicts in this town. Stanley's grandfather made it very hard on him. There are many imporant lessons in life that you should learn. The three lessons that I picked were not to steal, never give up, and life is hard. The first thing teaches you not to steal. Zero doesn't demonstrate that skill well thoroughout this book. The second thing is never give up. Zero and Stanley never give up when they were trying to find refuge. The last thing is life is hard. Life doesn't treat the people well in this book but they get over it. Although there were a lot of lessons in this book the three I picked were not to steal, never give up, and life is hard. This book is very exciting and interesting. I would recommend to read this book if you want an adventure.

He steals some shoes and gets sent to camp. At camp he meets many people. One of those persons is Zero. Another person is the Warden. She is very nice at the begining, but she turns mean at the end. There were many things in this book that are realistic. Three of them were that a person can not live without water for more than three to four days. Another reason is that a person can live on onions and water for more than two weeks. Also there are yellow spotted lizards. The first reason is that a person can't live without water. The reason is they will get dehydrated. The second reason is that a person can live on onions and dirty water. The reason is that onions are food, and water is something to drink. The third reason is that yellow spotted lizards are fake. The reason is that I've never seen one before. This book is very interesting. There are many things I enjoyed.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Holes By:~Daysha Willis~And~Shaylene Thompson~ Review: The first thing that happens in this book is when Stanley gets arrested for stealing shoes and gets sent to Camp Greenlake. When he arrives at Camp Greenlake he digs his first hole, and discovers what his life is going to be like. Stanleys great grandfather doesn't complete his bargain with Madam Zeroni, and he gets cursed. Stanley makes a bargain with Zero to teach him how to read and write. In the past Miss Katherine falls in love with Onion Sam. As a result of their love Onion Sam gets killed and Miss Katherine becomes Kissin Kate Barlow, the outlaw. Some of the events in this novel were unrealistic. Out of many things there were three unrealistic things that we liked the best. The three are that a yellow spotted lizard can kill you, that the Warden has camp green lake, and that there are two oak trees in the middle of the desert. The first most unrealstic thing was that a yellow spotted lizard can kill you. Usually when you walk up to a lizard it runs away. The second most unrealistic thing is that the warden has camp green lake without anybody knowing. It's almost impossible to keep a secret without anybody telling or knowing about it.The third most unrealsitic thing is that there are two trees oak trees that can live in the desert. They would need water somehow and it never rains at camp greenlake. Overall I think this book is really good. When you read it you don't want to stop. You want to find out what happens next.

There are many ways this book is realistic. One way is there could really be a camp like Camp Green Lake. Another way is they could really run out of water. The last way is someone could have gotten killed because they were Black. I like this book because you never know what's going to happen. This book teaches you lessons in life.

It's about different people connected by their ancestors. Stanley(the main character)is under a curse. He and other kids dig big holes for punishment. Something exciting happens later in the book that changes his life in maybe a good or bad way. This book has many lessons of life that stanley goes through. He's a nice person who has to face things he's not used to. He and other people he knows have a very unique ancestry. Stanley comes from a long line of people with bad luck. Fate and coincidence are very important things in this book. Stanley has to do a punishment for somebody else's crime. This book is not just about Stanley, but he is the main character. If you are an adult or kid this would be a fun book to read. To find out what happens or happened, read this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Holes Review ; by David & Chris Review: Stanley Yelnats gets accused of stealing some shoes. They belonged to a professional baseball player. He was sent to "Camp Green Lake" to serve his punishment. His great-great-no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-grandfather was cursed by a blind Gypsy Madam Zeroni. There are several connections between the past and the present throughout this whole book. If you don't pay attention you won't understand, so you better pay attention if you really want to know what's going on in this book. There were several lessons that were learned in this book. One of the lessons was that if you don't do things you say will God will punish you however he shall choose, like he did to Stanley's grandfather. Another lesson is that if you have an idea about going and looking for someone when they run away; you should do it like Stanley did in this book. I can't tell you who or what ran away because you'll have to read the book to find that out, but what I'm saying is go with whatever you believe in. There are several things I could say about this book, but that would just give the whole thing away. If you want to read an outstanding book you should read this book. It's an excellant book. It will leave you in amazement. So go, pick this book up and start reading it. You won't want to put it down once you start.
