Summary: My idea of a good book
Review: "Holes" may be one of Louise Sachar's best books. It is about a boy named Stanley. Stanley is wrongly accused of stealing a famouse pair of shoes. He gets a choice of going to reform school...or Camp Greenlake. He picked camp greenlake because it sounded easier on him. However, there is no lake on Camp Greenlake. There isn't anything but a hot, hard desert. He has to dig a hole five feet wide and five feet deep every day. Stanley is told that digging is to build character. After a while, Stanley thinks they are looking for something. When the warden told him to report to her if he found anything valuable reinforced his idea...
The subplots in "Holes" may seem useless, but they all come together. So holes is many books, not just one. I think that this uniqueness is what makes holes a good book.

Summary: The Amazing Book Holes
Review: The book Holes by Luis Sachar was a great book. My favorite character is Zero because he was fearless when he hit Mr. Pendanski wit a shovel. He story took place at camp Green Lake. I learned that camp Green Lake is not the place that I want to go. I would defiently recommend this book to someone else because it kept me reading all day long. I would read this book myself again because it was such a great book.

Review: I really liked this book!! I thought it would be about the moon or something, but it was about a kid named Stanley, who got arrested one day and was sent to Camp Green Lake. The people running the camp said the boys there would build chracter by digging holes, but Stanley found out the people running the place were really looking for something. During the story, some people run away. But it's happy at the end. You peoples should read it. I bet I didn't make it sound exciting, right??!!?

I'm a baby genius!!! just kidding

Review: Holes

This book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who is always I the wrong place at the wrong time. Stanley blames his no-good-dirty-rotten-great-great-grandfather. Louis Sacher does a great job about putting you in Stanley's place and making it seem like you are him.
The main characters in this book are Stanley and Zero (Hector Zeroni). They really don't get along at first but the friendship grows over time. I was so entertained in this book that I really had no hard felling towards any of the characters. I think the theme of this book is that coincident don't just happen they are there for a reason. The book was very entertaining if you listened closely. The ending of the book is very well written.
I really loved reading this book. Louis Sacher kept the information perfectly precise. It is easy to understand. This is a great suspense book for everyone to read. I totally recommend this book.
This book has four stars in my eyes. I hope everyone who reads this will love it too. This book would be good for readers ages 7-12.

Summary: This is a fantastic book
Review: I read this book to my eight year old and we both loved it. It is both complex and magical, travelling through several parallel universes in different time frames that are nevertheless mystically tied together.

The complexity of the story is good for developing young minds. You can't just listen to or read this story. You have to think about how Stanley in time frame 1 is relevant to Stanley in time frame 2 and how both are relevant to Stanley in time frame 3, as the characters echo through generations. You have to pay attention to which time frame you are in in each chapter. In this way, the book is reminiscent of D'Engle's book "A Swiftly Tilting Planet", which also links generations in different time frames together in a mystical way, OR Nobel prize-winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "One Hundred Years of Solitude."

The book also examines racial relations and the tangled web of the ancestries of all people in the melting pot that is the US, making it a uniquely American and uniquely relevant book.

I just can't say enough good things about this book. You definitely should read it.

Summary: Holes- The best book on Earth
Review: I thought that this book was remarkable. I cried numerous times through the book due to the events that the character Stanley and his best friend Zero had to face before the curse had lifted.
I am an eigth grade Student and I am fourteen years old and I believe that this is one of the best books that I have ever read in my short years. Louis Sachar really captures innocense and heartship through his characters. Camp Green Lake and what it represented was brilliant! I love this book and would recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: Wonderful book for adults
Review: Its almost a fairy tale, in modern day, with characters we have seen in most malls on Saturdays. This simple tale comes full circle and warmed my heart. A lovely read and a nice break from the tomes on the best seller list.

Summary: Kendra' and Megan's Review
Review: The novel Holes is a exciting book about two boys named Stanley and Zero. There are four important and exciting events in the story. The first event is Stanley getsarrested for stealing shoes and is sent to Camp Green Lake. The second event is he arrives at Camp Green Lake and meets the boys and learns the rules. The third event is Stanley andZero make a deal that eventually causes them both to run away. The forth event is Stanley runs into some yellow-spotted lizards.

There were three lessons of life within this novel. They are life isn't always fair ,not everyone in the world is nice, and truthis strangerthan fiction. The first lesson is life isn't always fair.Stanley didn't chose to go to Camp Green Lake but he had to pay for the crime. The second lesson is not everyone in the world is nice.People weren't nice to Stanley when he first arrived. The third lesson is truth is stranger than fiction.Even though they didn't have any proof. There are many lessons of life that describe this book but I think that these are the best three, life isn't always fair, not everyone in the world is nice, and truth is stranger than fiction.

Overall I really liked this book. Iliked this book because it was very interesting.
