Summary: Great book
Review: Holes is a very good book. In the begining it's a little bit confusing, and as it goes it gets more interesting. Louis Sachar had a very good writing style. In this book, he can tell two difrrent stories at once and you can understand what's going on. The ending is probably the best part of the book. But, I'm not going to give it away so you will have to read it yourself. I would recomend this book to every body. So go buy Holes!

Summary: Review by Chris
Review: I give Holes 5 stars because it focused on people that weren't so fortunate in our world. It gave a new look on how people treat each other. If you can follow your instincts, good things happen. I highly recommend this for an 8th grade student or any other age.

Summary: Holes
Review: I enjoyed the book, Holes very much. Although it is set for ages ten and up I believe that any age level can enjoy thid book. I liked this book because it kept me guessing and didn't give away the ending to soon. I was constantly on my feet trying to predict what would happen next. Louis Sachar has a unique way of writing and involves the reader so that they feel like they are there too. If you like adventure books that keep you guessing and involve you in the story the Holes is for you.

Summary: Holes Review
Review: I read Holes, by Lois Sachar. It is about a young boy named Stanley Yelnats. It all started with this no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather. Stanley claims he was cursed by his grandfather's bad luck. One day, Stanley is walking down the street and sneakers fall from the sky. They weren't just plain old sneakers, they were Clyde Livingston's. He is a famous baseball player. Stanley gets caught with the sneakers and it turns out that they were going to be auctioned off. The cops thought he was stealing them. Stanley got a choice to go to Camp Green Lake or Juvinille Detention. He decides the camp. When he arrives, the air is dusty and unbeleivably hot. There is no lake, nor is it green there. He soon finds out that every day you have to dig a hole that is 5 feet by 5 feet. They say that they build character but when Stanley finds something valuble, he unleashes more than his character.
The title kind of tripped me up, I didn't think that it would be worth reading but in the end i liked how the mystery is unwinded and how the characters seem to fit in better. I like how it is narrated by another person other than Stanley and I like how the warden gets it at the end of the book.

Summary: I just couldn't put this down!!!
Review: Holes is a great book for readers to want to have a lot of fun and for people who want to know what a good book really is. The author is Louis Sachar. Holes is about a kid names Stanley Yelnats (which is Stanley spelled backwards) who gets convicted for a crime he didn't do. He has to either go to jail or has to go to a camp for juvenals. He chooses to go to the camp (I sure would!). This camp is in an old town with barely any water. The camp is for kids like Stanley who did bad things (even though Stanley didn't do anything bad). Then, Stanley realizes what the camp is really for...

I really enjoyed this book. The title is not too catchy, though. When a lot of kids started telling me to read it, I finally agree. At first, I thought it was boring. But then once I got into it, it was really good. I know parents always say that, but for this book it was true!!! This book is one of the top ten out of at least 100 good books I have read. It entranced me like no other and was very unique. To me, the book was very imaginable. I could imagine how Stanley felt. At one time I cried, and another I actually yelled, "No!". You will just have to read it. And if you are a parent or a teacher, get this for your kids or students. It taught me to follow your dreams and always keep your hopes up. Your kids/students will love this book. HOles was so good, I started reading other books by this author. Sachar is a great writer who keeps you engaged in his books. When I read at night, I was amazed when I looked at my watch and saw I had been reading for so long.

If you are not a big reader, this book is good for you. But, if you are a good reader, this book is still good for you. it is for all ages. I didn't have trouble reading it, and I'm a 5th grader! It is probably for kids about 8 and up. I hope that this book will show you what people call, "a good book", like it showed me!
