Summary: awesome book!!
Review: I loved this book by Louis Sachar!! He is a wonderful young adult author with hits like There's a Boy in the in the Girl's Bathroom, and the Wayside Stories series.

Stanley Yelnats is a boy who has had a bad twist of fate. He is accused of stealing a sneaker belonging to a famous sports star that was donated to charity. Even though he is innocent, he is sent to Camp Greelake, a camp where you are sent if you commit a crime. Camp Greenlake: a lake to swim in, fun and sun, sounds great doesn't it!! NOT!! The boys are forced to dig holes in the sweltering, broiling sun. And that "lake"? It dried up half a century ago!!

Read it and see what happens!
I promise you, it's a great ending and you won't be dissapointed!!!

Summary: Puzzle
Review: Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yenalts who is sent to a juvenile detention facility for a crime that he didn't commit. At the facility, Camp Green Lake, the detainees are being forced to dig 5'x5'x5' holes. Something is fishy is going on at Camp Green Lake and Stanley is going to find out what is the source of the fishiness. The story winds up to be a courageous adventure where Stanley learns courage and friendship.
When I started reading Holes, I didn't know what to expect and throughout the book it follows the same track. Background information is give about the town of Green Lake throughout the story and though it is very interesting, I didn't know why the author was telling me it. At the end of the book the pieces fall into place and the puzzle is complete. The characters also all had their own unique personalities that were expressed by their actions and speech. Stanley Yenalts is a brave boy who is at the wrong place at the wrong time. His family is poor and it seems that life for them couldn't get any worse, but Stanley doesn't let that get to him and always has hope. Zero, another character, is a boy who was abandoned as a child and was automatically dubbed as stupid, but Zero knows that he could be very smart, if only someone would teach him. These two outcasts of society soon find that if they stick together and never lose hope, they can prevail. If you read Holes you will not be disappointed.

Review: Being a 12 year old, finding a book that keeps you reading untill the end is a little challenging. I loved this book and recommed it to all ages.

Summary: Great book
Review: I think what I like best is the unintended humor of the former disparaging review which said, "this book has a lot of holes in it." Yes this book does! All the holes you could ever want.
About the book? Great descriptive writing and characterizations. Well-done writing "from child's perspective." Engaging plot -- stretches the bounds of probable reality a bit, but does a good job of tying together ALL the plot threads by the end, even those involving the "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing great-great-grandfather" !! Perfect for upper elementary level. Newbery Medal.

Summary: Holes
Review: The book Holes was very interesting and adventuress. I like the trick about Stanley's name. Stanley was accused of stealing Clide Livingston's shoes but Stanley said they just flew out of the sky and in his hands. Then he got sent to Camp Greenlake, where bad kids go to dig holes five feet deep and five feet wide. At camp Stanley had a kid named Zero in his tent, you'll find out why they call him Zero and what happens to him. I recommend this book to anyone who likes surprises.

Summary: I Hate Camp
Review: The boy makes a friend with someone else at the camp. They both run away. They find the Big Thumb (if you want to know what this is.... read the book). This book was exciting. You could read this in third or fourth grade.

Summary: Holes Book Review
Review: This book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who is sent to Camp Green Lake, a dried desert lake, to pay for his bad behavior. He and the other kids in the camp are required to dig a hole, about 5 feet by 5 feet every day to help build character. Once you are finished, you can rest for the next day....I would recommend this to people of my age (12). All my friends recommended me this book, and I think it is a good book. Some people were writing about this book of being the greatest book ever made. I would pass it down like it's just like a valuable gift from relative to relative. It's a Newbery Medal book. It has the teachings of crime, punishment and redemption.
