Rating: Summary: The Crossing Review: There is a little kid that lived in Mexico. He was poor and had nothing to eat everyday. His only way of survival is to beg for money from Americans. They had so much money. So much they could just toss it away to see poor children fight for it. To them it was entertainment, but for the children, it was for survival. The poor kid is very small and weak to fight. So he depends on his speed. He wants to cross into America one day, so he can start a new life. But he was never able to. One day, and American Sergeant came to visit. Could this be the only way the poor child has a way of crossing and making it to America? I liked this story because, it's exciting and makes you want to read more. It's also sort of sad at the same time. Each chapter always end with the child feeling sad, and that made me want to read more, because I wanted to find out what was going to happen to him. The sadness and excitment made the book better. If it was only one of them, it would be very boring. I chose this book, because it was another one of Gary Paulsen's book. I love his books, because it always had excitement. The cover of the book looked interesting too. This was one of the few books i missed out on that Gary Paulsen wrote. THe summary in the back made me more want to read it. It may not have won any awards, but my dad said that it was an amazing book, so that's mostly why i read it.

Rating: Summary: The Crossing Review: This book was about a kid named Manny Bustos that was trying to cross the border between the United States and the city of Juarez, this kid wanted to go to the United States to get a job and a better life because he didn't have a home and he did not have any relatives, and at the end he got some papers to go to the United States and no one knew if he made it. I think that this book was really good and Ithink that we should read more about this so other people can know how people live in other country espicially Mexico because that is one of the poorest country.
