Summary: Exciting Book! Adventure in Every Chapter!
Review: This wonderful book teaching tolerance, acceptance and understanding and the value of dependence on one another is a required reading book in 6th grade in our schools. The children enjoy the book and learn a great deal about survival in the woods! Excellent page turning adventures between an Native American Indian and a boy.

Summary: DO YOU WANT TO READ A BOOK, THIS IS NOT THE BEST ONE!
Review: This is a nice book but kind of boring but it has nice parts. If you want to read a good book this is no the one there are many more and much much better!

Summary: DON'T READ THIS BOOK, WHATEVER YOU HEAR!!
Review: I hated it. This book was completely lacking action. It just sucked!
If you want historical fiction, read Jimmy Spoon and the Pony Express by Kristaina Gregory or Alice Rose and Sam. THIS BOOK IS NOT WORTH IT!

Summary: The Sign of the Beaver by Elizabeth George Speare
Review: The Sign of the Beaver is a great book, but I only rate it four out of five stars because I thought the first chapter and a half were boring. Nothing was happening in the forest in the beginning. The book got better as I read more because the main character, Matt, meets Indians, makes friends with them, and has lots of adventures. It is a great book and I liked it alot.

Review: I did not like this book at all. I thought it was very slow and I would never read it again. I have read many books but this was the worst. ... I could look at the sky all day and be more interested. You would have to be insane to like this book.
At one point they went fishing. Fishing is boring enough but this book went to the limit with it. He saw a fish. He missed it with his spear. ...

Summary: My Favorite Book
Review: This book was great! it's mainly about a kid named Matt. He makes friends with an Indian named Attean. This book was the best I ever read! I really recommend that you read this book. I really like it that it has a lot of hunting. Matt is really intrested in squaw (woman) work. Attean gets fed up with his intrest in squaw work. It's the greatest book ever!!!

Summary: To read or not to read???
Review: Sign of the Beaver is an... ok book. Not many interesting words or facsinating scences. This book is more for the "nature" kids! It is quite boring in certain parts, but has a good plot.
Matt a thirteen year old boy is plopped in the center of the woods. He has no friends there until he oddly is attacked by bees! He is saved by and old grandfather and his grandson...wow. Matt has to pay him back by teaching the Indian's grandson Attean, to read. Even though it is ok... I would NOT reccomend it for ANY classroom reading. I had to FORCE myself to read it. Thank you for your time.

Summary: The Sign Of The Beaver
Review: The Sign Of The Beaver by Elizabith George Speare is about a 12 year old boy named Matt who has to survive on his own because his father went away to get Matt's mother and sister. Matt learns to survive by himself with the help of an Indian friend. I like this book because Matt has alot of adventures with his Indian friend, Attean.

Summary: The sign of the beaver
Review: This is an epic story of freindship, adventure and survival, a must read for all ages. If you ever come across this book in the bookstore, buy it- you won't be sorry. Mrs. Speare got all the facts straight, and her tale of grudging freindship is sure to hold your interest throughout the entire book.
I also suggest you give the VHS version a try. It's almost as good as the book.
Overall, undoubtedly one the most satisfying books I've ever read. Buy it- I guarantee you'll love it.
