Summary: Great Book
Review: This book is not a bad book. There's nothing dramatic, although it keeps you awake. It gets intresting towards the end, and when I finished the book I thought it wasn't that bad. I would reccomend this book to people who like rather relaxing stories. The author is trying to express the feeling of a chinese who arived in america. Laurece Yep is a great author.

Summary: This was one of the WORST books I have ever read!
Review: This book is basically about a young boy who moves from China to America with his father. His father is trying to build an airplane. At the end of the book his dad finally gets his plane to fly. That is the whole plot of the book. It is so boring, it almost put me to sleep. The only reason I read it was because I had to read it for school, and even then, I only read up to about the last few chapters. I hated this book, and I don't reccomend it to anyone else.

Summary: A thrilling book!!!
Review: I really liked this book. It was about a boy that went to San Fransisco. He went to visit his dad and find work. He then met a girl that was his father`s boss` niece. There was a giant earthquake and they had to rescue trapped people. That was the earthquake of 1607. This book was thrilling and I will continue to read more books by him.

Summary: Stroy of Dragon Boy
Review: This book is a story about Chinese people whose came to USA. About how hard is immigrant's life in USA, and about how those people care this problem. The main hero is the young Chines boy who is very mature in this situation. I think that this book is a good example for children from middle school. They can see how hard is for kids from different counties to survive in a new society. They can learn and appreciate they situation. I think that this book well also for people which are interesting in Chinese immigration to USA.

Summary: This is very good book. This is worthy reading.
Review: Our teacher assigned us reading this book. Like most of my classmates, at first I didn't like it. I thought that both its story and language were sort of strange. But later on, I felt the story more and more interesting and the language better to unterstand. The book is an unusual historical novel. The story is about the life of Chinese immigrants in San Francisco early this century. It introduces a lot of Chinese culture and tradition which remind me of what I experienced in my motherland China . I feel it vrey cordial. On the other hand, it also introduces a lot of American culture from a Chinese immigrant's point of view. All in all, this is great book. I'll suggest my son who is in third grade to read this book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I recomend to read this book
Review: I really enjoyed reading "Dragonwings", the Laurence Yep novel, even though he use a lot of Chinese stereotypes, and some themes are related to opium consume, and prostitution. It is still a very good book for every age, because these themes are touching just by the side. And he doesn't encourage anybody to consume drugs or to be a prostitute in his book. It is amazing how Yep made up a fantastic story based on one fact about a Chinese immigrant who build a biplane, fact that he had read in a newspaper. It is very interesting to know how a child from China had seeing America and American People. In my opinion the most important thing in this novel is the worth that the author concedes to the family issue, because he states that the family values are very important. Family is always present from the beginning to the end. Family is the opening, the body, and the end of this novel
