Summary: Very Exciting
Review: I had to read this book for school, and I really liked it. It told a lot of the hardships that Tony and Cindy went through when they were lost. It also gave me some idea's about what to do if I am ever in that situation. It had some twists like when the snowmobilers came and past, not even seeing them. If I had been in that situation I would have been bored out of my mind, and scared out of my wits. I recommend this to anyone who likes stories about survival.

Summary: How long will these stories be forced down our throat?
Review: I personally am quite tired of reading the same basic survival story, spewed out again and again by obviously struggling writers. Spoiled boy. Boy meets girl. Disaster occurs (ie being snowbound.) Girl reforms boy. Both realize how much they need each other. Happy ending, everything is saved. Grrrr.... Is this really literature??

Summary: Interesting book
Review: I thought the book was good. There were some parts that didn't make sense and some parts that shouldn't have been in the book. The book leads you to an interesting conclusion. The beginning made you think-why would someone do this? But all in all the book was a great survival book.

Review: Romeo and Juliet

All through life people change. Some change to be better, and some change for the worse. In this case, I think that Romeo changes for the worse. For example, the students at school. In the beginning of a year, the kids at school like to talk to their friends, goof off, and not want to do their work. Towards the end of the year, all the kids do their work because they realize that it counts and that they need the credits.
My first example of how Romeo changed was when he was first introduced in the play. He was all moping around Verona because he was in love with Rosaline. He did not want to do anything. He was all depressed, and in love. He really just wanted Rosaline to like him just like he liked her. Later that night when Romeo was invited to the Capulet party, he saw Juliet.
In my own opinion, I think that when Romeo saw Juliet that was when he changed. For example, he broke into the Capulet's back yard just to see Juliet. When he was in love with Rosaline he just stayed at home and prayed that she loved him. That right there shows that he changed because he didn't want to let this one get away.
Second, when he got the news that Juliet was dead, (even thought she wasn't) he broke into their grave house just to see her dead body. I can't say that he would not do that for Rosaline, but since he did not do any thing but sit at home when he loved Rosaline and went and actually saw Juliet that leads me to think that he would not. He took a chance to be killed by breaking into their grave house just to see Juliet's body.
Third, he killed himself because he thought that Juliet was dead. Romeo just went with his first thought which was kill yourself to be with Juliet. I think that the moral of this love story is think twice act one. If Romeo would have thought about the situation I don't think that he would have killed himself.
In conclusion, I think that Romeo's heart and emotions made Romeo's decisions instead his head. Romeo is young and impulsive like many 9th graders. Romeo choice was to kill himself instead of the 9th grades that can learn from their mistakes.

Summary: snow bound
Review: Snow bound. I like the book because it made me want to read on and on. The reason why I picked this book was because the cover interested me. The first couple of chapters were boring, but then became exciting. The theme was not to run away and bad things can happen. Be careful of what you wish for. A boy Tony finds a dog and want to keep it, but his parents don't want it, and kick it out of the house. Tony runs away because he's angry at his parents. He meets another run-away named Cindy. They get lost in the middle of nowhere after a fight. This story is believable because people can get into fights and get lost. The characters are believable because they behave like normal teenagers. I would recommend this book to people because it's an interesting story that makes you want to read and read to find out what is going to happen.

Summary: Story of Survival
Review: Snowbound centers around the story of two isolated teens, Cindy Reichert and Tony Laporte, who happen to find each other and become stuck in the snow after a storm hits. Tony is a spoiled kid who is a little conceited and feels as though he should have things his way. Cindy is a little self-concious about her self worth, and does not seem to understand the right way to feel better about who she is. When Tony gets upset with his parents for not letting him keep a dog that he found, he decides to skip school and "steal" the family car to look for the dog. Along the way, he picks up Cindy, who is hitchhiking because her bus is late. From there the clashing of their personalities becomes apparent, and eventually, after they get stuck, they have to learn how to get along to survive in the snow.

Although a bit simplistic, the major essense of Mazer's work is to show how important cooperation is to the element of survival. Will Tony and Cindy use each other's skills to get out of their delimma? Or will they just fight?

Another significant asepct of the book is the issue of self identity and change. Cindy and Tony must figure out their own strengths and personal weaknesses and come to another realization about themselves.
